Tam &Toby do Europe ...Take two

Hey all sorry the threads been lacking a bit lately.. my mate is over from Belfast for a week till Wednesday, it's bloody roasting and just trying to find places cooler is a task , it's been 34 and 36° since he got here.
Do yesterday we left torremolinos and are in marbella but a bit inland at this place called " lake of the turtles"

He now for some reason wants to visit Gibraltar and since I never did the walk up the rock last time that's where we are heading.

Here's a few pics from lake of the turtles

P.s there are no turtles and it's not shaped like a turtle...so that question you're desperate to ask ...I've no idea.

Nice to see you back Tam, and to see Milo swimming? in the 3rd piccy.Nice one Milo!:D
Can't keep him out the water these days ..sadly jade is now being lazy she stands at the side while Milo fetches the stick and then she steals it

Afraid as a female I must disagree! I don't believe Jade is lazy - she would dearly love to be in the water and beating Milo to the stick, but alas she is afraid to be out of her depth.
I would suggest that if Tam were to paddle in shallow water, making sure he never went deeper than Jade's elbows and left the choice of whether she came in or not entirely to her and made much of her if she chose to go with him, she might one day regain her confidence and venture a little deeper.
Any coercion I would suggest would affirm her fears and spoil her chances of ever again being happy playing in the water.:( which in the climate she and Tam live in would be a great shame.

She does go in to the point where she's completely covered etc .

She just won't fetch the stick...She let's Milo fetch then she steals it.

I don't think she's scared of the water as she will run in to it etc ... She just likes taking anything he has off him

Reminds me of my ex wife

Well at least she left you with that chip on your shoulder.

Glad to see Milo in the water & enjoying himself.

Milo has got the hang of this swimming lark.

Tam do encourage Jade to go in the water, she will need to be cool as she has black coat.

It will be hot in Gibraltar, can your mate come back when it’s cooler weather.

As long as Jade paddles, which she does, she should be fine. Apparently dogs can only loose excessive body heat through their pads and their tongues. :giggle:

I always do ...She does go in she just doesn't swim around like Milo does which is a shame but as long as she goes in to cool down it don't matter.

Well we are in Gibraltar and instantly I remember why I didn't like it much last time, bloody arrogant police on the customs check , no bloody signs , got flashed twice by speed cameras while doing max 25mph etc etc . So I'm parked down at Europa point and going to try walking up the rock tomorrow if I can find these bloody mediteranian stairs as I can't see them and like I said there's bugger all signs here.

But I'll also nip in to Morrison's tomorrow and stock up on diluting juice and a couple of other items I can't find in Spain.

Diesel is £0.98 a litre ...I'm sat on 3/4 tank typically

I recall Gib being a dump........probably hasn’t changed much.

Tam I’m missing countryside, trees, lakes and beach in your photos.

I’ll be patient and wait.

Are you going to risk overnighting on the rock?
Not sure what you mean by risk but yeah stayed overnight at Europa point carpark.
Planning to go up the rock today ..but not sure how you get up from here , supposed to be some mediteranian staircase or something

No Motorhomes allowed overnight on the rock.

White taxis at end of main Street. Included tour and commentary and entrance to tunnels etc. We've always found the cable car expensive. Dogs might not be allowed however.

Also recommend the tour taxi, you can still do your walking but these give you a bit of history and show you where stuff is.

Taxi !!! Sod that I'm hiking up lol
Can't find anything about dogs however so I'm hoping they are allowed as it's a fair walk from here just to the ticket office I think

I don't know how you couples survive without killing each other in a motorhome.

My mate jack is here for a week obviously. Already gave the talk on preserving water and water on floor etc .....and all you get is yeah yeah I know.

Sat here listening to about 30-35 litres of water being used in shower , floor soaking grrrrrrr
Its 11.15 I'm normally up and out the door around 9 ...9.30am
We're gonna be climbing this bloody rock in the hottest part of the day

I don't think I could survive longer than a week without throttling him.

I can shower and wash hair In 8 litres
