Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Jees I've only been here a few hours and already I've been told off for calling someone Irish 😏 apparently they are British.
Tam you have a lot to learn about N.I. politics/religion.
It all depends what area you are in.
Tomorrow you might call someone British and you will be told “I am Irish”
You will soon get the hang of it😁
If you are driving into Belfast be careful of the bus lanes.
The cameras will catch you and send you a nice fine.

Every van I've seen from Ulster has always had an URL plate on it. Pees me off as we changed from GB to UK to please them.

I think we changed from GB to UK in an attempt by our politicians hoping to get us to change plates and get rid of the Euro flag.

Didn't work - in France recently, on the peage down from Calais, I reckon only half the British cars at most even had a UK sticker on, let alone a new plate. The other half either still displayed GB or frequently displayed nothing at all.

The van's a year away and I'm already having sleepless nights over it. Why on earth do they put the batteries in the middle under the floor so you need to be a midget to crawl in the hatch to get at them? And then the distribution unit in the garage, nice & easy to get at but silly long cable runs.
Am I right in thinking the B2B is a Votronic & do you know where it is fitted?
You could just relocate the batteries surely?

I installed some equipment for MI5 got a right bollicking when leaving I wandered back to the gatehouse without my escort.
Had the same problem in the american embassy an armed guard to have a leak

Just before the second gulf war I had to attend numerous bites of cat plant at west marsh Southampton to double up all the harrness and ecms with lead coated stuff just in case sAdam had nukes🤔, first week great same texen would escort me to the vehicles was not allowed to sit in the van so he ran alongside, after the first week a different chap turned up at the gate and would walk the 2k to the machines one evening after a long day could not be bothered with grumpy to walk me back and by now new the route so sped off to be confronted with guns point at me and asked to leave the van and lay on the ground, lucky they were British military police and was told I was very lucky as if it had been the yanks they would have shote me opps.

If you have a "cubby hole" in the rear garage or somewhere similar it may be screwed to the "roof" of that compartment. Mine is on a Chic E Line.
It is not Votronic but then again it is not brand new.

I’d have to say Lenny if you were working for the spooks in NI you would never have had the knowledge that you were working for MI5. Never. It would have been tarted up to be some obscure Intelligence branch of the military. Just my experience 😁

I have to say it's an impressive building...certainly not a small affair , very we kept grounds and a bloody huge driveway....surprisingly easy to park aswell which was surprising. Very friendly guards a had a pat of the dogs.

I also found Coventry but the connection between that and hiroshima escapes me.

I was installing computer training equipment for them in a new branch they were setting up in the barracks, they never admitted it was them. When they phoned up for a quote I got this call " Hi Mark here from Thames House" I replied "hi Mark MI5" the answer was "NO" even though I'd met the guy a few months before at Thames House.

I'm now parked up at shankhill Road. It's interesting. I wasn't aware there was still segregation here. . Will have a walk around after a coffee.

A brave man but you do have three guard dogs, who would lick any attacker to death.

I'm here for purely curious reasons although I might just be paranoid but you do get a lot of funny looks at this bit. Not sure why.

Anyway here's a funny thing from this morning . I was talking to another dog walker who is originally from Sussex. I mentioned the thing yesterday about calling someone Irish and them saying they were British and he says yeah they get quite offended. He then said you should be alright though you're Scottish...its the English they don't like.

Now I'm confused as that doesn't make bloody sense. Surely that's a contradiction

I’ve always said it took generations to breed the hatred into people in certain areas. Unfortunately it will also take generations to breed it back out again.
95% of the population have no issues

Just be nice to your better half the day you install your new batteries otherwise you might find the lid to the central underfloor storage area 'accidentally' gets shut with you in there! We call it the dungeon!!! 😄

Aye everywhere I've been so far nearly everyone says good morning and pets the dogs or speaks to them ...the guards at stormont were really chatty , showing me where there were dog friendly walks etc. It's a shame there's still this thing hanging over the place.

This is where I'm parked

The comments mention gates that get closed and I assumed they meant the carpark but it's actually the neighbourhood that gets closed off with big gates at 6.30pm ....there's walls around it. I'll post up some pics later .

Once you are out of Belfast you will find the Irish are very friendly and love to stop and talk, particularly in southern Ireland.

Bet you don't get to see the inside of an H Block, I have.
