Yes good idea. We had to do an emergency repair on a hike in France once. I managed to get an exchange when we got back to the uk.Can't you get in touch with where you bought them from and send them a picture? There's no way they should do that - it looks like they haven't been glued and pressed correctly.
Please don't tell me you haven't got any of the most important piece of kit any motorhomer should have ... gaffer tape!I paid £60 for these which I know isn't a great deal of money but really annoys me . I'm gonna have to try repairing them with black mastic and see if it bonds them back together lol.
Sikaflex would be betterPlease don't tell me you haven't got any of the most important piece of kit any motorhomer should have ... gaffer tape!

It was an ebay purchase so I don't hold put much hope. But with my other boots leaking and my trainers being more intended for use in Spain I need to try and repair these for now . Its bloody annoying. Can't you get in touch with where you bought them from and send them a picture? There's no way they should do that - it looks like they haven't been glued and pressed correctly.
I have but I ain't walking about with taped up boots lol if I can use this stuff I've a chance of making them last me a few monthsPlease don't tell me you haven't got any of the most important piece of kit any motorhomer should have ... gaffer tape!
I need them now though , not really the weather for white or red trainers here lol and my other boots are now leaking ill have a trip to decathlon in Spain most likely but for now I need footwearI would be contacting either who I bought from or makers before trying to repair them.
Aye I know, I reckon I'll buy a decent pair when in Spain, probably a bit better priced than here. And I'll be there in less than a fortnight. I also need to invest in some outdoor walking trousers etc.For the amount of walking you are doing Tam, you should invest in a good pair of hiking boots. Yes it’s going to cost but you will never look back. Get them fitted properly in a good outdoor shop and you won’t regret it.
You will probably find boots dearer in Spain than the UK, I like Pikolinos shoes, made in Spain cheaper to buy in the UK.Aye I know, I reckon I'll buy a decent pair when in Spain, probably a bit better priced than here. With the weight loss I've dropped 2 sizes in trousers and if I get to my desired weight I'll drop another so I was being tight and trying not to waste money on stuff that won't fit later
The other pair are leather but similar thing , leaking where the sole joins , they are tresspass branded and also bought new in September but they were really cheap , only £25 or something. You will probably find boots dearer in Spain than the UK, I like Pikolinos shoes, made in Spain cheaper to buy in the UK.
If you want waterproof boots you need to buy leather ones and regularly dub them.
I've sent you a pm as I just had a thoughtYou will probably find boots dearer in Spain than the UK, I like Pikolinos shoes, made in Spain cheaper to buy in the UK.

Yeah I bought a pair of merrell boots in Greece 2 years ago and they lasted only a few months too , not sure how I'm so hard on footwear , I blamed my weight before but I've lost a fair bit now and it's not like I've been abusing them , purely walking.I never have had a lot of luck with boots, no matter what I pay, all split across the right sole. I put it down to small feet, and how I hold them when driving. Just buy cheap and cheerful now. Gluing does not help the cross way split.
John fixed his trainer, soles had gone like your boots, with gorilla glue.
Just got back from walking daughter's dog, got me Merrell's on they are over 20 years old.Yeah I bought a pair of merrell boots in Greece 2 years ago and they lasted only a few months too , not sure how I'm so hard on footwear , I blamed my weight before but I've lost a fair bit now and it's not like I've been abusing them , purely walking.
Lenny for goodness sake it’s 2022 if l had read this 70 years ago when nothing else was available other than Wellies l might have believed it but we have come a long way since then. Leather Walking BootsIf you want waterproof boots you need to buy leather ones and regularly dub them.
To be honest I prefer leather ones myself as easier to clean but it's a minefield out there lolLenny for goodness sake it’s 2022 if l had read this 70 years ago when nothing else was available other than Wellies l might have believed it but we have come a long way since then. Leather Walking Boots
Looks like your heading over to Glendalough Tam? En route you could stop off at Poulaphouca Reservoir for a bit of lunch.... now there's one for you to pronounce.... lol
You need to get into the 'de rigueur' kit for those with 'changing' waistlines ...With the weight loss I've dropped 2 sizes in trousers and if I get to my desired weight I'll drop another so I was being tight and trying not to waste money on stuff that won't fit later
Get yourself some good quality shoe wax and give them a really good coating, it'll get into all the joints, seams etc and ensure they won't leak next time - do it regularly though to keep the waterproofing. The other pair are leather but similar thing , leaking where the sole joins , they are tresspass branded and also bought new in September but they were really cheap , only £25 or something.
They are so stiff and heavy actually l don’t wear boots they don’t suit my feet and restrict movement around the ankles that cause pain so l go for Walking Shoes which are just as robust but more comfortable. To be honest I prefer leather ones myself as easier to clean but it's a minefield out there lol
