Tam n pups winter trip 2022

So, parents don't have the absolute right to park in parent and child bays in supermarkets etc. then?

Gina.
No they don't. They are simply courtesy spaces. There are no laws or regulations governing them.

Sorry Tam no more of this. Promise. Great pictures btw

You're gonna get sent to the corner in a minute
:giggle: ... in my defence I hadn't refreshed my page so didn't see your 'yaking' comment and photos until after I'd posted ... :imoutahere:

Must have nicked those pics off the internet, it's not raining.
Not rained a drop today thankfully, but it was sunny nearer the coast it got duller and colder here. But I won't complain because its far better than rain.

Sorry… last one from me on it.

It isn't always obvious that some people are classed as disabled because their disability is hidden, hence the need for a badge to show they are 'legitimate' users of the spot, it would be very easy to see that those using the mother & child have got squawking brats with them ... unless they've stuffed them in their massive designer bags. :giggle:

Or even just plain children

But to a parking warden it’s just a car parked there when they are in the shops, they have no idea as to who got out of the car, personally I don’t put up my disabled badge, I have an adaption if they want to look in the car and see, and if they want to give me a ticket then it’s up to them to prove I’m not disabled…

And yes I’ve got a ticket or two in the past and I’ve just sent a copy of my entitlement to them and it goes away…. 😎

I thought we were just talking about supermarket parking spots, rather than disabled spots in general. I understand what you're saying but can you imagine the amount of time and wasted paperwork etc that would ensue if disabled people didn't put their badges in their cars? All the time a parking/traffic warden is spending writing tickets etc for those who are legitimate users of bays who don't bother to display their badge could be better spent on fining the ones who are abusing them. Not having to display a badge would likely mean MORE people would abuse them even more.

Twas a dry sunny morning this morning , had another wee walk around lismore

🤔 personally I'd be asking John Ryan and sons where they were on the particular night in October 1994 this wall collapsed , seems a convenient coincidence to me eh.

Captured the castle from the recommended viewpoint with a bit sun hitting it

And then we headed off to caher, this was an incredibly busy little town for a Sunday, and the skies had darkened by this point and rain was threatening, could not get parked In any of the carparks , but noticed all the lads that were at the sports field playing football had parked on the double yellas so I followed suit and we walked back to see the castle.

We then went a walk along to see the Swiss cottage that there were numerous signs for , saying 1 mile walk , I should have know at this point it wasn't a bloody mile as they use km here but it definitely said 1 mile , anyway rain came on as we were half way there but in the hope of some nice photos I pressed on , the 1 mile was closer to 3 in the end and the bloody thing was closed and its surrounded by an 8 foot feckin wall so no photos and we got soaked.

Back to the van and off in the direction of Cashel, got here about an hour ago and its not stopped raining since so we've not been out the van

But the forecast says dry tomorrow so I'm hoping I can put the drone up tomorrow for some decent photos of the rock.

Since October '94 there has been endless speculation about the cause of that wall falling......everything from the ghost of Cromwell on up.

The latest local rumour is that it was knocked by an unidentified motorhomer "from across the water" who struck it with his scooter rack while trying to make a three point turn.
I have no idea how that rumour started.
Oh wait..!!!!
;)

My moneys on John Ryan like 😉

Well we've had a walk , soaked again but hey ho it's becoming the norm . We found an old Abbey...hore Abbey 🤭🤭🤣 and decided to have a look around that , then walked round through the town and back to the van . Waiting on the water heating now for a shower ...

I'll pop pics of the Abbey up In a few minutes. Surprisingly I wasn't the only fool taking pics of it in the rain

Last time I was in Cashel we had American friends staying with us and were showing them around Ireland when all of a sudden the girl with us started shouting about the children at the ice cream van without any adults she couldn't believe that children in Ireland can run about on their own without adult supervision she said if that happened in America they would be abducted in minutes.... sad there's places like that in the world, makes us thankful to be living here in relative safety

Pffft if it was in America the kids would be holding up the ice cream van or scoring drugs from it lol

You should go on one of the Goth rallies on here Tam(y)

Gina.

When we were at Cashel we were told that the monks did not live/pray at the Abbey but at a small chapel in a nearby field. Not quite as impressive through🤔

I think he is lovely. He has the same colouring as my boy Leo.
