My dad did have some good taste though it should be said...he did gift me some fantastic artists and songs I'd likely never have listened to otherwise. Sinatra , Dean Martin, Perry como, matt Monroe, Nat King Cole, johny cash to name a few


Folk find my playlists hilarious at times how its all mixed...megadeath one minute cash the next

Yes definitely. I was surprised to be honest. That's the problem when it's just me and the dogs . When she disappeared I had no idea what direction she had gone in so I stood shouting for her a good 10 minutes then walked up and around the golf course a bit shouting and whistling for her but had no sight of her , so then it's a dilemma...do I return to the van and see if she's gone back or hang around where she went missing....I started to walk back a bit , passed a few walkers on the beach and asked if they'd seen her , no one had so I gave a few people my mobile number and asked them to call me if they saw her ...I walked back some more then had second thoughts as she's never went back to the van herself before so I walked back to where I'd last seen her , walked up the golf course again...looked but couldn't see her , so again I asked a few golfers to call me if they saw her ... finally decided after about 35 minutes to walk back to the van as my throat was sore calling her and I figured I should ask a local and contact local police and maybe a community group etc and tell them I had a lost dog ...I was parked roadside on quite a busy street overlooking the beach so hadn't planned to.stay there.

Anyway it took us a good 20 minutes to walk back to the van , and there she was walking around the van and on to the road , there were 3 or 4 people trying to coax her to them but she wouldn't go . One woman had blocked the road with her car to stop the traffic ...I was very relieved and surprised that she'd made her way back . Thanked all the folk and they left ...I was sat on the wall shaking giving her a cuddle and this other woman came up to me with 2 hot sausages. She'd been to a cafe to get them to try and coax her to them . So they all got some sausage and a cuddle from the woman.


So alright in the end but she's a nightmare when she does this. Most of the time now she's fine off the lead but when she spots something to.chase she can go charging in to the long grass or dunes etc and if you lose sight of her there's no telling which way she's gone

Walked in to tralee this morning but meh its dull lol , not a single interesting building to photograph but at least it gave us a 6 mile round trip walk ... we then planned to follow the n86 along the peninsular to Brandon head etc but the buggers have closed the road...I suspect its for a roadrace or rally or something as a load of motorsport trailers there this morning offloading mk2 escorts etc

So I've driven south to castlemaine and I will take the lower coast road along to dingle

Stopped at castlemaine for lunch at the minute

Not many pics again tonight I'm afraid. None from our walk in to tralee as nothing worth photographing, our lunchtime walk was on inch strand , a lovely big sandy beach so there's a few photos of that and then we stopped briefly in dingle for a walk around town , nice enough town but very busy today .. only have one pic of the coloured houses/ shops on the front. Didn't want to stay in town overnight as too noisy so we are now parked up at another beach ( wine strand ) about 6 miles out of dingle.

That wind got that bad last night I had to get up at 1.30am and drive to a more sheltered location, honestly thought it was going to take the solar panels off the roof . Driving up those little dark lanes was interesting though and not something I want to repeat.

Parked in the carpark for the gallarus oratory, another rainy morning

We remember having to do that. We had to drive in pitch black up through the centr of the ring of Kerry at 0200 in the morning. It was awful as it was woodland

It's just that everything reflects in the windows of this van , the mirrors and reverse camera are useless in the dark and these are very narrow lanes. Going round corners was fun

I went here today, good fun, check it out when here but I advise daylight , dry day, feeling brave kind of day, excellent pub , great food

So today we drove around the coast of the peninsula anti clockwise from dingle back to dingle , various stops ,Dunmore head , few small ports etc round past Brandon creek and mount Brandon but couldn't visit either of those as access lanes too narrow. We then stopped at lidl in dingle for a few supplies and I was going to drive the Connor pass but again van was too big ...so we headed back to inch beach , had a walk and then left there around 5pm and drove back to castlemaine where we had lunch yesterday ... so thats the dingle peninsula

Aye that photo does look strange ..that's my camera's 0.5 lens setting , it's handy as it can take a wider shot when you're quite close up . I think it's maybe because I was taking the shot at a 45° angle

So we are in castlemaine at the minute, and next is the ring of kerry which is supposed to start in kilarney and end in kilarney , I can't decide whether to go to kilarney today and then pick a route clockwise or whether to just go anti clockwise from here and divert to kilarney at the end of it or not. I'm hoping to spend a few nights on route rather than drive the 100 and odd miles in one go lol .

The advice is to go anti clockwise as that is the way the tour busses go and you don't really want to be meeting them.
I am not sure if there are may tours at this time of year though so it may not matter so much.

I pulled over to let a coach pass me, though I would make life easy and follow it. Couldn't keep up they drive like loonies.

Aye I decided just to do anti clockwise, spotted a few tour buses at the bog museum so there are still some operating just now but not as many as summer I'd imagine
