Tam n pups winter trip 2022

With the Morocco thread, I think that the dogs/cost are a issue for us, we have hopefully had the titre test done, but waiting the results, this is for our future travels as one test only.
As for import and export this is probably standard procedure for Morocco/ turkey boarders to be crossed, so an experienced that I hope can be share with others who have done this in the past and like you, are willing to help.

Dont tempt me I've nae money lol.

What date are you planning to go to Morocco? Reading the Morocco thread is making me nervous , it seems complicated , this importing/exporting etc also where do you get your insurance?
Lol, nothings for sale 🤣
I'm leaving Ireland again around 10th January heading down through France, Spain etc to Carlos gaff then get the ferry over whenever probably be around 20th - 23rd around then,
Never worry about the import export stuff it's only a bit of paper you'll have no bother, insurance? Either get border insurance it's 3rd party only but them boys out there can fix anything for buttons if something did go wrong or I might give saga or nfu a call as I'm due renewal march or April sometime so would just let it run out and take a new policy from January on but probably go border insurance I did that in Turkey last year and Morocco the other year I never worry too much about all that stressy stuff lol

Here's a few pics to get you in the mood... there's even pics of my Mrs stealing fecking sand from the Sahara! lol (that's my last van I've a wee dinky van now 🤣)

I've had 3 Elegances in the last 10 years, great vans, before them I had a Morelo & a Concorde but now I'm loving the wee malibu mandarin orange no more big stuff for me 😁

I wouldn’t like to reverse out of our drive with that elegance there’d be nowt much left of the rear end, so long and so low.
They are smashing inside though great quality.
Aye the interiors are beautiful, I remember drooling over one in perthshire motorcaravans back in 2010/11 I think the 810 was around £90k back then beautiful inside. But having since had the frankia and this current tag the ground clearance can be restrictive. This one isn't as bad as the frankia was for sure but you've still to watch the overhang at times

Great vans Mikey, my last one ( the 1 in the Morocco pics) is for sale with a well known funster & motorhome dealer Alan Kerr and is a cracking van I can vouch for if anyone is after one...

You've *nearly* gone from one extreme to the other then, from that ginormous tag to a PVC! Do you miss the space, and if so does the driving on small roads & parking ease make up for it?

I only decided last year to scale down to a wee van after nearly 15 years of big vans and only because after spending a few months in Greece & Turkey I seen I was missing out on seeing a lot of places due to the size of my vans so I decided to buy this wee Malibu van and to be honest after we ditched all the crap we never used there's loads of room in it and also as you say it can be parked up anywhere which is a bonus and sure if I dont like it after a while there's always plenty of big vans for sale so I can just go back up again, but I doubt it now 🙂 from this....

Is it the 5.99 or 6.36 metre one, a huge difference to what you had though.

We've lost ela again ...20 minutes so far and no idea where she's gone. We were walking the beach at ballybunion and she took off up in to the golf course and sand dunes. I'm gonna feckin throttle her if I get my hands on her

I've got her. She had went back to the camper thankfully... but wouldn't let anyone get a hold of her so she's brought the road to a standstill... I could throttle her if I wasn't so relieved.
She just felt like a chill day, too much walking lol🤷🏻‍♂️😆

On a bright note she made her own way back to the Camper l believe that to be a credible improvement over her past shenanigans when she goes off. ⭐
Yes definitely. I was surprised to be honest. That's the problem when it's just me and the dogs . When she disappeared I had no idea what direction she had gone in so I stood shouting for her a good 10 minutes then walked up and around the golf course a bit shouting and whistling for her but had no sight of her , so then it's a dilemma...do I return to the van and see if she's gone back or hang around where she went missing....I started to walk back a bit , passed a few walkers on the beach and asked if they'd seen her , no one had so I gave a few people my mobile number and asked them to call me if they saw her ...I walked back some more then had second thoughts as she's never went back to the van herself before so I walked back to where I'd last seen her , walked up the golf course again...looked but couldn't see her , so again I asked a few golfers to call me if they saw her ... finally decided after about 35 minutes to walk back to the van as my throat was sore calling her and I figured I should ask a local and contact local police and maybe a community group etc and tell them I had a lost dog ...I was parked roadside on quite a busy street overlooking the beach so hadn't planned to.stay there.

Anyway it took us a good 20 minutes to walk back to the van , and there she was walking around the van and on to the road , there were 3 or 4 people trying to coax her to them but she wouldn't go . One woman had blocked the road with her car to stop the traffic ...I was very relieved and surprised that she'd made her way back . Thanked all the folk and they left ...I was sat on the wall shaking giving her a cuddle and this other woman came up to me with 2 hot sausages. She'd been to a cafe to get them to try and coax her to them . So they all got some sausage and a cuddle from the woman.

So alright in the end but she's a nightmare when she does this. Most of the time now she's fine off the lead but when she spots something to.chase she can go charging in to the long grass or dunes etc and if you lose sight of her there's no telling which way she's gone

as my throat was sore calling her
Can I recommend one of these

I don't have a very strong voice, so shouting for Kerry isn't really going to work, especially if there's background noise, or the wind is blowing in your face... also a whistle doesn't betray your mood or stress.
Even if you can whistle loudly, one of these always blows exactly the same note.

They soon learn that returning after a whistle blast = high value treat.

Kerry's recall is poor. But with this, even if she decides not to return immediately, she can know where I am.

Second the idea of the whistle. We have a Springer spaniel & I can’t shout as loud as my husband, so a whistle has really helped. She always comes back, ever since the time we cooked & deboned a whole chicken & gave it her when she came back to the whistle! 😂😂
