Hee aw hee aw hee aways sends them the wrang wayI saw a couple of Austrian tourists down that way a while back asking for directions....View attachment 680358
Aye I'm heartily disappointed to be honest, I was really looking forward to Ireland , don't get me wrong the scenery has been beautiful, but it does seem to be a country where they just ban everything, I think small campers would have few issues here , but larger pvc and motorhomes it's a challenge at times . Especially in any towns , its like they don't want you to visit. Even the supermarket's are a nightmare to park at, and then there's the dogs , jees there's signs everywhere banning dogs from parks , beaches. Hiking trails , forests ...I.mean cmon that's all the best places for dog walking. If you like a drink then it's for you but for a hassle free relaxed holiday I'd have to give it a 4/5 out of 10 I'm afraid . Scotland wins hands down. It's 20 years since I've been to Ireland. From your blog it's changed a lot and not for the better, think I'll give it a miss. Used to be friendly people and no problem with dogs anywhere, though some strays around.
Scenery seems worth the trouble, your photos are truly spectacularAye I'm heartily disappointed to be honest, I was really looking forward to Ireland , don't get me wrong the scenery has been beautiful, but it does seem to be a country where they just ban everything, I think small campers would have few issues here , but larger pvc and motorhomes it's a challenge at times . But I am glad I came and ill enjoy the rest of it as much as we can and then head off for some much needed sunshine .
Certainly cant fault the scenery.....which tbf was my main reason for coming to Ireland, I think it's the wrong time for the weather ...but I think trying to park in spring or summer must be horrendousScenery seems worth the trouble, your photos are truly spectacular
If I get a decent dry day again I'll have a look at thatYour wastegate is accessible by getting under behind the front offside wheel if you can get it lifted a few inches on a level ramp or kerb.
From there you can reach up with a pair of pliars to get it moving, a spray of lube is also useful although it soon burns off.
I do mine annually now after finding it siezed up and like you losing speed on inclines.
For the rock enthusiasts among you I have a load more cliff porn to upload later.
You heard it here first....the kilkee cliffs are far far better than the cliffs of moher, and the real beauty is there's no visitor centre, no hi viz clad badge wearing Adolfs to boss you around , no expensive carparks , no flannel or human interference, just nature at its best and worst... and outstanding natural beauty
Coming soon
That car park looks like someone's favourite place to drive in circles, not a peaceful place overnight. Did the sign board by the parking ban Drones? Just asking as I noticed at the Mull of Galloway that the lighthouse board ban drones in their area.Loop head lighthouse for lunch

Unfortunately too windy to put the drone out past the cliffs , it was getting blown about a fair bit inland and didn't want to risk it ...a shame as I think you'd get some stunning shots looking back in to shore
Aye most likely. I was just there for lunch . On a wee pier in a quiet wee village now for the nightGreat pics Tam, that carpark looks like it’s been used by the boy racers unless that’s your tyre marks with you screeching in.
Surprisingly not . Banned everything else though including motorhomes, there were 2 there when I arrived that had obviously spent last night there but I never intended to stay there tonight anyway. Neighbour has 2 stallions, brothers you (I) can't tell apart except when one sinks his teeth in to me.I almost lost an ear to a horse that colour. Luckily it was stitched back on
Maybe they have been on the sauerkraut and needed some fresh airPVC owners cover your ears I'm about to have a moan.
So when I arrived at this spot earlier there was an irish registered hymer here and a german registered possl pvc , it's a small bit parking , room for maybe 6 Van's if all parked correctly, but bare in mind it's a car park and theres a few local cars come every so often , walkers, dog walkers , view gazers etc , so when I arrived there was the hymer parked the right way , a car next to him , then the German pvc parked the wrong way taking up 3 spaces which left one space in front of them which I reversed in to , it wasnt ideal as it effectively blocked in the PVC and also meant opening my habdoor was right on to their bonnet and front lounge.
Anyway after I'd walked dogs the irish van had left so I moved in to the space he'd left , 2 or 3 cars popped up and got parked but it left only the space in front of the PVC......the irish van returned, I assume he'd been further along the cliffs checking out other spaces, anyway he could only park in front of the pvc so he decided not too and left , so the selfish bugger in the pvc despite their van being considerably shorter than mine stopped anyone else parking. Now it's just me and them , discovered its 2 women with a dog , I'm guessing they are on the wine or beer as the sliding door is opened then slammed shut at least once every 20 minutes so I can only guess they're conserving loo space but I really wanna go ask them if theyve any idea just how inconsiderate they are or if they're really that thick . And offer them a bleeding bottle to pee in. I parked up here around 5pm and can honestly say I've had 2 pees since then ....they must have bladders the size of thimbles.
It's not a hire van either and it does have a loo in it. But cant think any other reason for the bloody door being opened and closed so often
You might have a lot more rain but it’s a hell of a lot more beautiful then the coastline of south of Spain, you need to go inland here to find any beautyLast nights stopover at kildysart port View attachment 681223View attachment 681224View attachment 681225View attachment 681226View attachment 681227View attachment 681228View attachment 681229
And a wee woodland walk at lunchtime just outside ennis

Tried to find parking in the town of ennis but failed , its another town with no parking for motorhomes.
Currently at bunratty Castle where we've stopped for a walk around but won't get in the park itself.
No but I think the pics are deceiving lol ...its getting a bit mucky nowTam, your motorhome looks very clean considering the amount of rain you have had.
Do you wash it when you are away?
