Tam n pups winter trip 2022

I can’t believe in all the towns and villages you been in you have not stopped for a pint of Guinness. (y)
I will eventually, I'm not a big drinker, weather is mostly crap so not like you can sit outside and enjoy a pint with the dogs. So I'd prefer till I had some company , so it might well be in Dublin

Obviously made of money Dublin prices make London prices look cheap.

One can visit pubs without drinking a lot.
Your dogs will ensure socialisation.
A pint can go a long way...
As a solo, I know.
The worst that will happen is an hour or so of 'people watching, a change of scenery/environment.
...and the dogs will get a bit of fuss.

When you go to Dublin you can go to the Guinness factory and do a tour. You get a free pint with your ticket at the top bar which overlooks all of Dublin from every angle. All the tourists go there and most of them don’t like Guinness but just want a photo of themselves with a pint of the black stuff and then will give the pint away. Me and my mate come out from there a bit wobberly.
The Temple bar area is great for music and pubs etc. (y)

We’ve lost many a Sunday (after the Rugby Game Saturday) in the Bars in Temple Bar! You’ll love it Tam - music in most of the bars. Goodness knows where you’ll park the Bus.

I doubt they’ll let animals in and Tam won’t leave them.

He’ll likely have more joy in a pub.

Just for information purposes .

The last full month 26th September to 26th October has cost me £604
£385 of that has been diesel, the rest is food shopping , laundry etc.

Add to that return ferry I booked for 23rd November which was £160.

Not getting great mpg which is partly down to pottering on small roads up and down the gearbox etc and possibly down to the vans undiagnosed issue with power loss on inclines etc. Think I'm averaging not much more than 15mpg 😱

Anyway this post is just for information purposes.

...but he doesn't like drinking, so all the recommendations for Guinness won't persuade him.

I only mentioned getting a pint, as set dressing, so perhaps he could enjoy/experience an Irish pub atmosphere.

My god what a place, thankful to have given up alcohol years ago. :coffee:
Each to their own (y)
I enjoy a few drinks now and then in company but I've thankfully never been one to drink alone just for the sake of it, I get drunk very easily and cant handle hangovers , many think I'm quite boring in that respect but its probably kept me out of bother and saved me a small fortune over the years, never smoked either. A man of few vices

We are in askeaton today , bit run down this wee town , but it has a free motorhome service point which is rare , next to a public swimming pool which us very noisy daytime as there's a big pump running but should be quiet overnight. Old Abbey and a castle so got some pics of those on our walk around. The rest of the day I've spent doing odd jobs on the van and took scooter off the rack to make sure it was starting up etc as not used it in 4 weeks.

Strangely I never did get that alternator belt tightened but the squeak hasn't happened in at least a week possibly 2 ....which is weird so I've refitted the cover etc ( now it will start)

I don't drink at all, never did or smoke either still manage to spend lots of money though as I like cars and used to have boats (hence the 'captain' in my MHF handle) lol

Fantastic detailing in the stonework on that abbey (y)
I think the belts tend to squeal a bit when it's damp, but soon stops after a few miles, wouldn't worry about it, mine does it too and I don't worry.

Aye vehicles are my vice but I've been lucky, mostly made money from them rather than lose

What date are you planning to go to Morocco? Reading the Morocco thread is making me nervous , it seems complicated , this importing/exporting etc also where do you get your insurance?

Tam, I appreciate you including photos of the information boards at the places you visit.
From today’s photos I have learnt a new word - “garderobe“. 🚽
I always enjoy a “garderobe” thread on Motorhomefun.
