Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Some extra windows & rooflights,, "de-sauna-fy" the interior (which could just be paint) and that could be a great van! There can't be many that come up with a lift & suitable wheelchair layout already in place, plus are already automatic.
Saw this today, bit more ground clearance, pop top roof too

You’ve had better weather than we have had this week in the Highlands (Torridon). Rained most of week luckily dry enough to walk dogs - can only do short walks at the moment as Yogi is waiting for his cruciate operation.

The seller is a bit of a plonker , half the technical details they have listed is for a 2010 sym scooter 125cc

The vario is a 2007 , 4250cc . It may or may not be automatic as that too might be regarding the 125cc scooter so that needs clarified

Its a 6 tonne , 126bhp .

This is depicted by the 613 badge , the first number is the weight , 6 meaning 6 tonne , 8 = 7.5t , 7 =6.5t , 5 =5tonne .

the other 2 are the bhp , 13 = 126nhp , 15 = 146bhp , 14= 136bhp and so on
They don’t make them like that anymore, did loads of miles in them.
Almost bullet proof if serviced, surprisingly good in snow for a long nose heavy vehicle.

This morning we headed in to the national park to climb the diamond hill , I was a little sceptical of the weather as it was overcast and drizzling when we set off but I've discovered in Ireland if you wait for it to be dry you'd never do anything so off we went , fortunately it got windier but effectively drier the higher we climbed so we made it all the way up and almost back to the visitor center before the torrential hail started so we ducked under a shelter till it died off to get to the van. Now having lunch. .

We met 2 lads up at the summit , Justin from donegal and hans from munchen gladbach , who kindly took oor photie . Cracking views from the top over to ballinakill Harbour and kylemore Abbey where we are going to go visit after lunch.

Lots of pics but as you know the view keeps changing the higher you go . It's about an 8km round walk moderately easy getting harder as you get closer to the summit. Passed loads of Americans on their way up as we came down so they will be drenched.

Tam

I urge you never, I repeat NEVER subscribe to the “I want arthritis club”.

I unfortunately must have sometime in my earlier years and i’m crippled with it.

I keep looking at your photos taken on your walks with the your dogs and I'm as envious as helI.

Ho how I wish I could do what you do, i’d simply love to do a tenth of what you achieve more or less on a daily basis.

Please do not stop and please post the photos as it takes me with you in my mind, I really do enjoy reading your threads.

Al 👍👍

Kylemore Abbey unfortunately doesn't allow you to visit the gardens and grounds without a ticket ticket to visit the inside which I'm not really interested in doing so we only got a few pics from afar ...

I'm now at ballynakill Harbour , going for a wee walk along the coast and I'll probably just stay here tonight as its quiet and out the way .

Visited the small working harbour of ballynakill, I had planned to park there overnight but a very grumpy old guy came and started ranting that it was private property ( no signs or nowt )
Visited the small working harbour of ballynakill, I had planned to park there overnight but a very grumpy old guy came and started ranting that it was private property ( no signs or nowt ) so we moved back towards the main connemara loop and found a little spot by a picnic area with nice views of the river , waterfall and sea. So this will do for an overnight parking spot.

Aye and they start of really aggressive too .

I was sat having a coffee at that last place and I just here's "oi " bellowed in a gruff voice . I looked out the window and a guy who.looked like a tramp with a beard to his knees stood there holding his arms out to the sides and gave a sort of side glance to the container to the side of me. So I opened the door and said sorry am I in your way , and he started shouting its private property you can't park here. So I said no.probs I will move but there's nothing to indicate I was in the way .. he shook his head and stood there rabbiting to himself . So I just moved . Can't be doing with numpties

But he looked like something from the hills have eyes .. proper inbred

I think you must attract them, never came across anything like that when we were there.

It seems that way . I've parked in spots like that all my life in Scotland and all over Europe...never had a problem , 3 weeks in Ireland and I've had half a dozen feckwits

And that spot is on park4night tae with several reviews

Tam I meant to say get yourself a wee piece of Connemara marble, its a beautiful green marble and its In lots of shops about there will sell them as key rings, souvenirs etc they make everything from it but just a wee bit for the van and it'll bring you good luck 👍

Is it the dogs, or are you really not interested in seeing inside any of the buildings?
I'm mostly interested in the architecture and how it looks on the outside, the interior decor doesn't interest me as much, I go in the odd cathedral or church and occasional castle but it's the outside I like the best , so if there's a fee to enter or I can't take the dogs I don't often bother.
