Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Ach I've said feckin eedjit most of my adult life lol . But I have a very bad subconscious habit of mimicking folks accents when I'm around them a while ...don't even know I'm doing it at times which can be interesting 🤣🤣
Yep, you & me both - I pick up on local phrases as well, don't even realise I'm doing it. You'll become a "plastic paddy" by the time you're on the ferry ::bigsmile:

I used to work in heavy civil engineering, often it would be me & 200 Irishmen on a site, I was terrible for picking up their phrases. I have to say though, the Irish are truly world class when it comes to swearing - feck can be used in 1001 different ways!

Your even starting to sound like us now Tam... 'feckin' 'edjits' lol by the time you've toured around Ireland you'll have a whole new vocabulary & we'll understand each other perfectly if we meet up in Morocco 🤣
Reminds me of when we were on our last but one trip Ireland a good few years ago, they used to announce the births on the radio sent in by the listeners, one was about a lady who'd had a very large baby whose husband was called Fechin, unfortunately the presenter called him Feckin and as he tried to correct his mistake all hell broke loose as he couldn't control his laughter, although he did manage to comment that he thought it was quite apt as there'd have been lot of 'feckin' from the lady due to the size of the baby! :giggle:

But they both sound the same...especially with an Irish accent

It's another overcast and drizzly day today ...can't even see croagh Patrick. We've been for our morning walkies and I've now 3 snoring dogs and I'm hibernating with a book and hot chocolate. The other vans have all left and apart from a steady stream of very brave swimmers coming and going I'm on my own here.

Enjoy the drizzle while you can, we are suffering with blue sky, no cloud to be seen , hot and sunny , 27 Celsius in the lovely city of Murcia, someone has to do it😎😎😇😆🤷🏻‍♂️, cathedral here is awesome , the detail is fabulous, 👍

Sure its not drizzling now , the sun is out the sky is blue ...we're out exploring.

Murcia will still be there in December when I am.

I agree the cathedral is lovely . It's a nice city

Well we've had a precarious walk along the cliffs , a wander through the woods and another amble along the beach this afternoon...lovely bright and sunny day now ..I'm sat out on the bench sunbathing with a coffee

The only thing disturbing my piece is the 2 dogs in the small Irish motorhome behind me that won't stop barking. Strangely enough the folk pulled up they got out left the dogs in the camper and buggered off for a walk along the beach , a German shepherd and a Yorkie terrier...they are going mental in there bouncing at the windows and everything

Looking at your latest photos Tam I was thinking it looked to be a doggie paradise. Such a shame that the poor dogs have been left behind in the Irish MH.

Lovely photos again. I see dogs heads and faces in that last photo of the tree and I swear I have only been drinking tea!!

We’ve lived in County Durham since 1999, very broad Yorkshire accent, when I first started work up here I was reported by another staff member.
Everyone was talking and someone was saying what they could do, I was saying “ Never, you I'm a dipstick do that, you I'm a dipstick, surely not”

I never realised at all that someone thought it was swearing, luckily the directors understood when they investigated and heard me.

An old boy at work was in the breakfast queue at the canteen, he said to the girl "I'll have a chooky egg" she reported him to the manageress as she thought he'd asked for a "fookin egg"!

It's like where's Wally with your pictures when you don't know if the dogs should be in them or not! I spend ages looking for them then realise its just a picture of a tree 😂 😂
Ha ha yeah they aren't in all of them but there's a few pics there you really have to look for them as they blend in remarkably well . Milo is a nightmare on beaches sometimes you canna see him

I’m so pleased you like Old Head, it’s a special place. I have a friend who lives in Louisburg, the first time I visited ( 20 years ago) I was following my old TomTom sat nav, I got as far as Westport, the satnav went blank, there were no maps beyond that place. We arrived at Louisburg and stopped in the town centre in our UK registered car, an elderly local approached us and asked if we were looking for the English girl? My friend was totally Irish but had been born in England many years before. They are wonderful people with a fabulous sense of humour!
I remember surfing at Carrownisky beach with all 5 of my family on the same wave, it was sunny and busy, a 5 mile beach with a couple of others around 😂 Special times, thanks for the reminder 😎

Found the info on your battery monitor looks like they just rely on voltage for percentage readout so they will never be accurate.

One is pronounced FeCKin, the other FeSHin ... even with an Irish accent they are definitely different! :giggle:

We have the problem with Minky ... I've got a small version of the below fluorescent doggy 'cape' that I'm gonna adapt as it's a bit big at the moment then she can wear it when out and about and we won't be playing 'find the ruddy dog'! :giggle: At least our Tazzy and Bella are mostly white!

One particular time in Ireland when I was on a boat (holiday cruiser) fishing going down the Shannon we had to pas through a lock, well we got in and with me at the front I grabbed the ladder and pulled myself up it on to the side and sat by the side (a good ten feet up) and standing at the lock gates was the lock keeper he saw me and obviously thought I had just chopped my legs off in the lock as he came running over and shouted “what the flip happened to you, stay there I’ll call an ambulance” it took a good five minutes to convince him I was ok…🤣😂

I hasten to add I was a lot younger and fitter then and there was nothing I couldn’t do… but it was so funny and is just one of my many dinner table stories of life and told with an attempted accent makes it even funnier….. 😎

Thanks for that Tam… Yes I’ve seen it and spoke to the seller, it needs a fair bit of welding done, but I’m tempted and I’m watching it..🤔😎

It will mostly be cosmetic welding same as the one I have. They very very rarely need structural work done thankfully. But a lot of van for that money.. probably a bit movement on price too

Beautiful sunny day today which was totally unexpected ...its gorgeous and a cracking day for a drive through the doolough valley which is breathtakingly beautiful if tainted by a very sad past .

Pictures to come later ...just having lunch at aasleagh falls . Another beautiful spot
