Tam n pups winter trip 2022

I wish I could find out how.

Our bathroom, doesn't have a window, hence no direct sunlight, but the plastic in the shower part is very yellow. I'd love to take it back to its original cream colour.
I cleaned my shower room floor with cream bleach and an electric scrubber. Felt a bit rough for a few days but fairly does the trick.

my coach built was like that , but I did have a window but it didn't appear to be anything to do with that as the sink wasn't near the window & went yellow yet the toilet below window parts of it stayed white?

Fortunately the back wasn't yellow .. but the cabinets in the bathroom are and so is the inner door panel. I have the door panel stripped off at the minute as I'm going to spray that grey to match the rest of the inside . I'll probably spray the cabinets at some point too but not at the minute

Can I ask you which paint you use on the plastic. I’ve some plastic in my Hymer, particularly on the inside of the door, that would benefit from brightening up.

You get plasticote paint in various colours but for this door panel I'm using grey plastic bumper paint as it's the same colour as the carpet lining I used inside so will match ok.

Otherwise you can buy plastic primer to paint plastics then use ordinary spray paint over the top

There’s paint you can paint over veneer, it’s hard wearing, my son painted his kitchen units it was a product from BQ called Good Home Paint, you can use it over laminate or veneer

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were planning to paint the wood-look cabinetry in the main van.
No I like the real wood cabinets in this van , they're in good condition too. It's the plastic ones in the shower room that's gone yellow like the door panel.

Might paint them later. Not sure yet

Door panel now painted and refitted.

Looks much better .

I'll have to make a wee bit to glue on the panel where one of the daft wee shelf bits were , it had been broken and glued before but uncle lenny pulled it off when closing the door . I'll make a bit out of 4mm ply or aluminium

Looks much better, are you going to spray the external locker, vent etc covers too as they'll look good in matching the silver/grey trim & decals?

Some of the plastic on my Hymer door is cracked. I’d like to repair that before respraying but I’m not sure the best way to do that. Did you have a similar problem with your Hymer?

Take the panel off reinforce the rear of the crack with GRP tape using gel coat filler, then fill the crack on the front side with gel coat filler.
Don't forget to drill a small hole at each end if the crack.

A bit of fibreglass behind it ... then a little filler in the cracks.

In other news .

I got a dear John today from the person I'd been seeing , to be honest it wasn't much of a surprise as they've been getting more and more distant over the last few weeks and have not had much chance to see each other between their work and mine and the stuff with mum.

I also knew it probably wouldn't last, but I guess I thought it would end when I went off travelling, but still hurts and feels crap right now. Timing sucks
