I will start with: Oh Shit what have I got myself into here! Think I need a lie down, dont wanna rush it!

Yep, it was a bit like that, didn't help trying to make it easy fit a second battery if he decides too.

In other news mum has not been great since I left , sister says she's in a fair bit pain , losing a lot of movement in her leg caused by the tumour in her lower back. I think she's missing the dogs too and sister is struggling as she's with mum from 7am till around 8pm these days. The palliative care team have now dropped off what they call a "just in case " box which contains some really strong pain meds , needles and such. Sister was a bit surprised they brought that so soon , ...she's still sleeping an awful lot and not feeling motivated. So in a way I'll be glad to get back up the road mid week.

I can charge my phone power my dashcam and satnav from an adaptor off that fag lighter to the right............. keep it simple
So can I, but I prefer to use USB cables. USB also charges my Bluetooth speakers, drone batteries, torches etc . Also the cigarette lighter was constant live so I now have both cigarette lighter and the USB sockets wired through a switch so I can turn them all off.

My cheap adaptor also has USB outlets for the phone and powerbank.......... I just think some motorhomers go a bit too far away from 'camping'...............All my life I have used lead acid batteries....... cheap, simple....130ah £80......... enough for most, I just don't get spending so much more for just occasional use - which it is for most motorhomers

Tam, I have not met you but feel for you as I have followed your travels and adventures on this forum with humour and insight, all I can say is there is no easy way with the loss of a parent, I lost my mam to dementia, then my dad to a brain aneurysm within 6 months of each other back in 2014 all I can say is take all the help that is on offer and try and make it an easy transition for your mum
You and your sister seem to have it together just like me and my sister but it is not easy
All the best and hope it works out

Mine isn't occasional use though , I live in it and I never use campsites or hook up . Every van I've had I've had issues with power shortage in winter so I'm trying the lithium option

My point was about motorhomers. you are different - by some way from most on here and we love seeing what you do.

Most do things very differently, me included - horses for courses

When I began I thought I needed 'everything' but used very little....... and still do

So pretty much just what Tam has except not as neat or permanent? And probably still jumps out the socket after a few bumps.

Mine has been to Poland, France, Spain and back and not fallen out and can be moved to my other vehicles, with the dashcam, powerbank, satnav and just plugs into any 12v outlet...

...keep it simple folks (y)

Barclaybasher which adapter do you use one I had blew the fuse when I tried to charge more than one thing at a tie

Totally empathise. My dad had the same - lung cancer with secondary bone cancer including a tumour on the lower spine. I’m sorry she’s in pain, but at least she still has some movement. She’ll be glad to see dogs (and you) when you get back.

Just off the phone with my sister , really bad night last night she had to stay over at mums , mum having stomach problems and had a few accidents through the night. Hopefully we will have the important stuff finished by tomorrow and I can head home r
Tuesday morning as sister sounds exhausted

Tam if the tumour is pressing on the spinal cord then that can cause incontinence. It’s not an easy time for any of you. Take care.
