Its actually quite straight forward once you suss it out . Only 4 cables fir the 240v side of things , the 12v side is a little more complicatedOne look at that and If it weren’t for Lenny I would have put the panel back on and said let’s go to the pub…
Most things are simple when you sussed it lol, electrics will never be one of themIts actually quite straight forward once you suss it out . Only 4 cables fir the 240v side of things , the 12v side is a little more complicated
Haven’t a clue what you’re talking about but I’m impressed. Keep up the good wor.Certainly interesting the way the the van is wired, mains inlet on one side of the van with the RCD in the control panel on the other side at least a 5m wiring run. RCD is supposed to be withing a metre of the input.
No fuse or MCB on the mains side at all, the mains connections were all ¼" push-ons, I reckon a heavy load like a kettle or fan heater had been plugged into a socket and the push-ons were a bit loose which caused arcing and the burnt out wires.
The back cover on the mains inlet was all melted probably due to proximity behind the fire, I just happened to have one around so new mains inlet fitted.
New consumer unit with RCD and 10 amp double pole MCB fitted in the wardrobe immediately abve the inlet just got to tidy the wiring up and sort out the wiring in the control panel so it's safe.
In layman's termsHaven’t a clue what you’re talking about but I’m impressed. Keep up the good wor.
Yes look at fiat's of the 2010 to present eraHaven’t Italian electrics always been a bit suspect?
I’m thinking back to Italian motorbikes 60s era!
Do you want the drawbridge to be up?en route to Lenny’s gaff, via @Just smiffy house to pick up some wine for him on the way
Now he tells us, on our second Italian van, we ar however happy with it although the mcb or whatever it is, is behind a drawer so can be awkward if it trips. It was interesting to see that it is piped for a gas cooker in there too, anyone fancy removing their oven if the electric tripsIn layman's terms
The italians are shite at building motorhomes. And their electrics is well dodgy.
They have to be on bottle 4 by now?come on, wet old day on the south coast, how have you got on?
Well because it's been a wet old day we couldn't do the bits we wanted to do .come on, wet old day on the south coast, how have you got on?
Milo looks guilty as hellWhy’s the radio coming out…?
I was trying to access the heater switch as the heater doesn't work. But I'm replayed stereo and fitting USB sockets etc so I'm fiddling with all that while lenny does the serious stuffWhy’s the radio coming out…?
could well be the resistor .as the heater doesn't work.
Yeah that seems the likely suspect .could well be the resistor .
Does the van come with a wiring diagram or a Woman's Realm knitting pattern?
I was thinking more like macrame! You can only make that sort of mess with crochet if it were knitted it would be far more uniform.
