I know how much of a problem wiring like that could be. It reminded me so much of my being asked "Can you have a quick look at the wiring on my Rimor for me" It was much like the photo of Tam's cabin, but you are missing a couple of dozen chocolate blocks that I managed to discover. The Rimor electrics (yes, Italian) worked on a bus-wiring system, but a previous owner had tried to sort out malfunctioning circuits with the result that some things worked, but an increasing number of circuits had failed for my "friend". In the end, I installed an Electrobloc system and rewired everything from that, including a change-over switch to be able to see the level of the two waste water tanks. It was quite an interesting job, carried out during the first CV19 phase.

It wasn't too bad once we sussed it out. Only 4 cables for 240v the rest were 12v and we didn't need to touch those . The hardest bit was relocating the leisure battery from under the bonnet to inside the van and having to feed those cables back. And then feed the huge cables for the b2b through the van

Tam, I am interested in your setup from a lay person’s view.
To avoid the reoccurring problem of losing battery power over winter months in storage James (AJM) has fitted two 150 Lithium batteries and is adding two more solar panels. My question relates to your inverter. I had a 1600w inverter and asked James to fit the biggest he felt would give me 240v “off grid” for a couple of months in mainland Europe. I now have a 3000w inverter. I am surprised you have not gone for a larger one. What is the reason for this?

Simple answer is everything I use is 12v bar chargers for a few things.

I don't carry kettles, air fryers etc they just take up space .

I have virtually the same setup as Tam is having except I have two gel batteries the only thing I use the inverter for is to charge my bike batteries and the low wattage kettle…😎

Thanks, I thought that might be the reason. We only have a few 240 volt items we take with us - kettle, toaster, hot/cool fan, hot plate, but the fan was essential earlier this year. Also, when we replace things at home, we are going to buy 800w versions so that we can take them with us if we want.
Edited - and Hil’s Brompton battery😁

Incidentally Tam, how much solar are you putting up top…?😎

Ela is like "what is all this mess" and Milo is like "I trust Dad he will sort this"
I think Ela is giving her regal "One is not amused!" look and Milo is just thinking "Here we go again ... I wish he'd buy one that didn't need pratting with!!!!". :giggle:

Jade on the other hand is just hibernating until it's all over! 😄

Don't know what's going on this morning , woke up at 07.00 , got up to go to the loo , staggered all over the place really dizzy and losing balance .. sat for a bit and thought fresh air might help , struggled round the park with the dogs feeling really nauseus , got back to the van sitting with some water and next thing I'm in the bathroom vomiting, only there's nothing but water coming up. Still feel a bit dizzy , no temperature but I've got the sweats .

Meant to be driving home today

I suspect Lenny spiked your drink so you don’t ask him to do anymore work.😂
He’s enjoyed your company so much he doesn’t want you to leave.😳

You need something dry and absorbent in your stomach, like cream crackers no liquid.
Feel well soon and don’t even consider driving until your head is clear.

What have you been eating?
I had dinner with lenny and Mijan. Their alright ...only thing I ate after that was a wee packet of dry roasted peanuts....admittedly peanuts have disagreed with me in the past but not made me throw up before.

Only water coming up though with the odd peanut , so dinner obviously already through my system.

Feel a bit less nauseas now though so who knows .

I feel fine otherwise.

Hope you feel better soon, Tam. Could it be caused by the heat? It must have been very hot working in the van yesterday. 🤔
Maybe as I was really hot yesterday.

I'm normally quite resilient, I don't get unwell very often. Just very strange.

Northernraider stop eating peanuts, might not be the cause but not unusual to get mild symptoms then more severe at a later date. If you can get some rehydration fluid, like rehydrate, tastes foul, but will get your electrolytes back in balance, possible a sports drink would help but sid don't quaff. Hope you feel better and are fir for your drive home.
