Tam n pups winter trip 2022

It’s a good thing that you all talking about the future, it will give you direction and gives other things to think about.
It will be a difficult time without all the other stuff to worry about.

Sounds like you and your sister are doing well under the circumstances….

I am sorry that I have just caught up with your news. I cannot add anything to all that others have said. I hope your Mum is as comfortable as possible, sleep is always good. Knowing that you and your sister are close and on the same page is as important for her as it is for you both and that is a blessing.
Wishing you good news for your own scan too.
Hugs

It's way to big for me. It's a 4 bed semi.
One each for each of the hounds?
;)
It's amazing the difference in mum in just a few weeks, the amount of sleeping she does is crazy. She sleeps all night but since 9am this morning I think she's only been awake about 20- 25 minutes. Has been that way now the last 4 days.
Is she on very strong medication perhaps?
At least whilst she's asleep she's not in any pain.

:heartbreak:

Thinking of you all in this sad, and strange time. Love.

Morphine , I think it's part disease part Meds, the palliative care nurses are coming on Tuesday and they may suggest alternative pain relief but will see what they say.

I like that , seen a few of those old ivecos on ebay the last year or so. They look great for size. Not sure how easy they are to maintain these days though

I've just caught up with your posts over the last wee while my God you've had it very tough. I hope your mum has a peaceful end with you and your sister there and at peace with it too. All I can do is keep you all in my prayers. Best wishes for your ultra sound.

I’ve seen another picture of you a long time ago too, you must have been a forerunner of motorhomes/campervans… it must have been so easy to park up anywhere then.. it would be interesting to see more in a thread you dedicate to the early days of vanlife..🙂 I wish I was around in a van then…😎

It was long ago and it was fabulous you hardly ever saw another Motorhome hence the waving. The odd thing that happened was Brits coming upto you asking how you got there🤔😂 No Peage no SatNav and you drove through every City and much safer than today.

Ye Ken that 38 year ago was only the 80's lol

Most of the old codgers on here had campers etc back then..

I got my first one 33 years ago and I'm just a bairn

Tam, I only dip into your thread on odd occasions (self-builds not really my thing) but I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your Mum. A very difficult and emotional time for you all.

Hey! Whats with the Old Codgers, age is a mindset and mine isn’t anywhere near my actual age.
My style of clothes, social life, active life MTB off road 60km a day etc is not that of an OC, l know there are plenty of old farts about but l don’t socialise with them as they cannot keep up.

Didn’t I hear you say the other day you got a quote from Saga….😆🤣😂🤔😎
Aye

I waited all my life to get this super duper over 50's discounted insurance

And they quoted nearly twice what every other company did.

They must think you get stupid when you turn 50

I wish I’d have got into it long ago instead of throwing over 100k away on Harley’s and the lifestyle, I could be in a Concorde or Morelo by now, although it’d probably be retired in an overlander👌🏼👍👍

Well it was mostly campers . I got my first vw camper in 1990 at 17 for £675 .

That was the start and I had a vw camper in my life from then right up to 2017.... well over 100 of them. Had a few other brands of campers too, few transits , couple of sprinters and 2 old vw lts.

I bought my first mh a burstner 747 in 2009-2010 , then I had another 2 between 2012 and 2014 a euramobil activa and a mobilvetta eurayacht . Then not again till 2017 when I bought the frankia, then the hymer, the iveco, the euramobil and now this one.

Had about 12 -15 caravans too that I uses to tow with vws for extra space when kids were young.

Mum and dad had about 10-15 motorhomes/campers , sister is on her 2nd , brothers had a couple of self build transits .

Could say it's a family thing lol

Just about to head off on the long drive down to uncle Lenny HB have to be honest my hearts not in it this morning , I'm worried about being away for 10 days incase anything happens while I'm gone , but I need these electrics sorted so needs must. Probably be fine once I get going and hopefully all will be well here till I get back. No idea where I'm stopping overnight tonight as not sure yet how far I will get but will see how it goes. Hopefully not lots of roadworks and delays. At least this van has cruise control which helps

I'm hoping I've everything I need with me as I just packed light with stuff from the caravan , didn't want to fill the van up too much as we will be stripping things out to get to the wiring etc. Still not sure what I'm gonna do with the dogs while we're working on the van but hey ho.

I'll be glad to get the new electrics in it and it will be the first time I've slept in it and used it since buying it.

10 days! Is Lenny getting slow in his old age? 😄
