I have seen his Christmas wish listHe'll be getting himself a National Trust sticker and Labrador next, just to complete the new image![]()
You forgot these ....
Why didn't I think about that earlierTam if you can give it a jet wash round the wheels and hub nuts, might stay clean long enough to get through MOT and fix at your leisure, unless they’re leaking badly it’s not usually a problem, see many HGV with a misting round the hub nuts. You can get them done in Turkey for about £16![]()
oops pressed the wrong button (again). Ignore me! Jumpy fingers, must be time for a beerGot mot on the camper tomorrow. Just discovered a leaking hub seal on the rear near side. Not sure if it's a fail or not or just an advisory. I want it fixed regardless but it’s not a job I can do myself on the drive and not sure I'd get it fixed in time for going down to uncle lenny's. Also not sure the brakes are that great on it either. So I've got it booked in to another garage Wednesday morning so they can have a look at it . Still taking it for mot tomorrow anyway so I can see if it needs any other work done to it. Hate when it's jobs I can't do myself
Sorry it won’t list.![]()
Aye its not too bad for a 25 year old van , just inconvenient timing.Oh well. At least you know now and both things are fixable.
In other news mums home from her scan , in good spirits , we have to wait now for results from that hopefully not long
Couple of hours with a rotary brush and it will be as good as newGot a pic of the underside from the pit . View attachment 792305
Lot of surface corrosion on the chassis where the original paint has flaked but it's very solid
Yeah although it would be easier if I had a pit or a ramp . Doing it lying on my back on the drive isn't the easiestCouple of hours with a rotary brush and it will be as good as new
Hire some pit or ramp time? Way easierYeah although it would be easier if I had a pit or a ramp . Doing it lying on my back on the drive isn't the easiest
Aye that's easier said than done. I will probably leave that job till I get abroad and maybe get it done in Turkey or something.Hire some pit or ramp time? Way easier
I told yer.Well the new whip novelty lasted 2 days, its a lovely car but really not suitable for deliveries, and mum couldn't get out of it when I took her to asda , so it's getting sold on again.
That looks like a 5 or 6 year old van when you live 200 yds from the beach like I do.Got a pic of the underside from the pit . View attachment 792305

Yeah just a bit ...she could get in OK and liked the leather as she could slide and spin on it to get in and out but too low to stand up from. That and its not a car for hashing about on deliveries. Its not nimble enough and I think the speed bumps etc would ruin it.Looks a great car for the money.
Was it too low for you mum ?
You probably already thought of this but what about lifting seat as high as possible then a booster cushion to give a bit more lift
