Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Our Iveco twin rear wheel 2005 6.48metre Concorde, weighed 3700kg empty, the original GVW was 4200kg but I uprated it straight to 4900kg without any modifications.
Axle weights didn’t change though, rear axle 3200kg it weighed 2300kg so 900kg left on the rear, the huge benefit of twin rear wheels.

Tam, I use the weighbridge at the seed merchants near Kinross. Possibly nearer than Kirkcaldy. The grey strip just beside the inverted teardrop is the weighbridge. They can do each axle if you wish.

Lovely sunny day today so will get that rear body seam sealed up today. That cheap crap skylight above the kitchen I plan to replace is leaking , not much but there's a drip coming in from it despite the ridiculous amount of silicone smeared round it . Might have to put a temporary bead around there till I get the replacement

We had a drip from our front roof lite, was coming from the bathroom one though, once that was sorted everything was fine, have had some torrential rain since then too.Had them all checked and resealed though

Rear seal is done now too , so bar the skylight I want to replace that's all the work on the roof done for now. Till I suss out what solar etc I'm fitting but that's for later once I've sorted the rest out.

Buyer is collecting the euramobil on Tuesday afternoon now so I've gotta start moving all my stuff out of it today and tomorrow. Will move in to mums tomorrow till I pick up a caravan as not got one yet . Hopefully one comes up quick lol 😆

Silicone is useless, there’s plenty other more suitable sealers.

I know but for some reason there's many fools out there that slap clear silicone on motorhomes. That was the hymer, the euramobil and now this mobilvetta that someone has put clear silicone on.

I don't even think folk use it in houses nowadays

Only for certain applications. 😁

I think it’s a cost thing, forget the value of the MH that should be the prime consideration they look at say Sikaflex at £20 and a brand that nobody has heard of but it’s the same size it states silicone and it’s £3.00. The price point to the masses is all they need to make a purchase decision. Buy crap it’s cheap.

Before I knew better, I did a silicon repair on my caravan years ago with an "outdoor" grade clear sealer, within a month, it started to un-adhere ! My neighbour (spray painter) put me on to Tigerseal pu adhesive and I've used that or Toolstation's own PU40 (made by Sika) ever since.

The brain does funny things to us eh.

I woke up at 5.30 this morning with this tune in my head I knew I'd heard way back but couldn't remember the lyrics ... been whistling the bloody thing for hours , my dad was big in to country music and it's Something I've heard from him .

I ain't religious but I wonder sometimes when I get stressed out about stuff if my dad sends me messages from beyond. 🤔

Anyway it's a good tune , by a good singer.

But I'm sending him one back that's more my thing lol

Love your taste in music Tam.
That’s the second song you’ve put on that I’ve put on my Spotify best songs!

How's all the resealing holding up Tam? Just drove by yours and the rain was biblical?
Aye its torrential .

Just been out checking van and unfortunately still leaking 😕 seems to be coming in the join on the side rather than the roof

I did scrape all the old sealant out this the other day and haven't resealed it yet 🤦‍♂️
