Tam n pups winter trip 2022

The two different names really says he is a con man, but on the other side if he has only had the van since October could he possibly not know how bad it is seeing as he hasn't seen behind the walls.
Have you tried contacting him to see what he has to say about it.?

He knows what he has done by changing his name, no comeback as bought off eBay. It’s fixable but needs a bit of money chucked at it.

Many years ago (over 30) we wanted to move from a tent to a caravan, the first one we viewed we liked the layout so bought it. Didn’t have any experience of what to look for, while checking the electrics I noticed what I thought was cotton wool, it wasn’t it was rot. Cleaned the van up and like you made a couple of quid on it, next one I bought had perished window seals. Quickly repaired them and moved it on, you learn as you move up the ladder. I can now renovate houses to a very good standard and can avoid dodgy vans like this. Dig in Tam, you’ll turn it around. 👍
Yep and the amount of vans I've had I never thought I'd get caught out with one this bad.

But you'd be amazed how easy it is when you're 6 hours from home and have left an 80 year old woman with one eye and mobility issues looking after your 3 dogs.

It was a stupid gamble making an offer on a van I hadn't seen ....mainly because the seller sounded trustworthy on the phone and was a very good liar.

It's a learning curve , and a mistake I won't make easily again.

Sure he probably never knew the extent of it. But he knew it leaked and lied, he knew the step was faulty, knew the mirror was falling off , the windscreen leaking etc. He knew he never spent a grand on upholstery, knew he never drove it to France, never knew the weight of it or that the " new tyres " are 9 years old.

His listing was just one big lie. And he lied continuously on phone and while I was there.

I've not spoke to him yet as I'm too angry. I'd rather wait till I was calm and then I'm going to send him a well worded message more telling him how ashamed he should be for his lies and deceit. And that if karma doesn't get him I may or may not swing past on my way south to check out his new camper 😉

I bought my Moby blind on ebay 6 years ago

- the seller didn't know it was over 3.5t but was honest and straight as an arrow - van didn't need a penny spending on it

Still happy with it

I read the listing on yours Tam and looked at the pics and I believed it was a genuine good buy

I’ve got a 66 year old in hospital just now that they’re trying to figure out what is causing her recent problems, meanwhile I’m buying all the bits to upgrade/uprate our recent purchase. If only the bloody couriers could deliver parts without damaging them. 😡😡
Life does get harder the older you get but you try not to let it wear you down. 😎

It sounds like to me he knew exactly what he was doing and knew the extent of it, he’s probably bought it knowing what state it was in for 5 grand or so and has doubled his brass.

It looks like he does this regularly because why would he have another Motorhome for sale, another pack of lies told and another alias name.

So maddening that he gets away with it.

Would a damp meter have picked it all up do you have one Tam.?

Quick deviation from Tams woes...
Even in France in the camper the Captain is never too far from the boats....
But can you spy my wee van anyone?......

Got the van under the willow tree but where are you? It looks lovely.

Is it free where you are parked rather than in the actual aire ?
Yes it's free, I haven't seen an actual aire here but there may well be one but we weren't really looking for one but yes this is free and no hassle at all, we were talking to the locals earlier who live by the canal here and some of the boaters too and its all very friendly & welcoming

Wow
That picture takes me back to 1976
Passed through there in our 26' yacht (mast on deck) on our way to the Med from Calais through the French canals and the Rhone - totally bonkers our first ever trip in a boat:doh:

To be honest Tam that's all repairable, it'll take some time but I'm sure you'll get it sorted.

If you really want to see how bad they can be do a search for a thread by Wildbill when he had a MH to do up, by heck that was a right mess, but he repaired it and turned it back into a lovely MH.
