Tam n pups winter trip 2022

I saw a gorgeous MWB Vario conversion on site a few days ago. It was done to a very high standard, but dear me the noise when it started up and drove away would drive me round the bend.

Shame your selling the vario it looked like a good base to start with. (y)
It is but not without difficulties. And I'm still not convinced of the size. It's long enough but the width is a compromise.

There are so many of them being sold off just now too by folk who spent a fortune converting them and their not selling.

I think they sound lovely. Much nicer engines than these fiat's

Still not entirely sure what I want . But I decided that I would just cut my losses and sell the vario back to the previous owner. He's covered what it cost me to buy it collect it insure it and mot it. So I've not lost a penny on it. That's fair enough for me at the minute.

Just got to sell the euramobil now and then see what comes up meantime.

Hi Tam
Been off the forum for a while.
Why not find an older quality van that has the right layout and adapt it to your needs? My Mobilvetta 190 is a good example 7.5m - you had one - quality built, most are lhd (mine isn't) . OK not winterised but you could sort that - Why start with a bare van? - mine's not for sale

Yeah I've been looking at older motorhomes

I parked up next to a smallish vario today, a 305 or something, couldn’t quite see… anyway when it drove off it sounded like it had a v8 in it.. a very nice hummmm to it…😎

good idea but will the neighbours complain about a caravan parked on the drive, whilst a van is acceptable:unsure:

According to our local council you are only allowed to live in a caravan or shepherds hut or static caravan for 28 weeks per year.

🤫🤫 if you don't tell I won't

That said I'm only in Scotland an average 26 weeks a year.

If you sell both, where will you live?
More importantly, where will the dogs live...
I might have another van before I've sold both. If not I'll move in to the house till I buy another. Or I'll buy a cheapish 4 berth caravan and stay in that till the right van turns up.

But there's been a few possibilities advertised lately that I'd consider

Isn't that an older version of the Hymer you had before ?

Rot welded up and all undersealed - your not going to know what the rest is like ?
