Tam n pups winter trip 2022

That's a lot.

Mine only runs the cooker and water heater usually. Fridge is electric and I think that's the biggest user usually. I had my heating on a few times in Ireland but not since . Had it on for a few hours a few weeks back just to make sure it was all working OK
Fridge uses about a litre a day.

Just had a look a Quirky Campers, nowhere near as bad as I was expecting, but with the amount of timber in most of them I would think none of them could be run at 3500kg.

Sadly not

Just people are buying old converted transits with 200k miles on the clock at 30k instead

That ugly raptor painted hymer I posted on here the other week sold for £42k

If you look at some of the stuff on quirky campers etc it's ridiculous.

Incidentally that's where mine is getting advertised next.
I don't think yours will sell very well on there, there isn't a proper motorhome among them.
I have always thought our ambulance wasn't worth much more than three grand but according to what's on there it must be worth 20.

Exactly, so now there is a proper motorhome for people to compare what they can get for the same money.

Self builds are only value for money if you build it yourself. I'd never give someone 30k + for a high miles ex works van with a homebuilt interior by a DIY builder.

But I guess it depends what folk think is cool or not.

I can't see anything on there that comes close to the spec , comfort etc mine has for the price.

It maybe worth going back on F/B just to list it on marketplace and then you will probably get another load of time wasters

Nah I could see that being a right pain

I’m thinking of selling my LHD Carthago , reading all of the problems that Tam has had I m really considering motorhome depot. The last car I sold privately (BMW) I had a horrendous time with time wasters, day trippers and fantasy folks. I’ve always traded in ever since. Ok you only need one buyer but by the cringe , sorting through the dross before you get the nugget is hard work. Good luck Tam

I think you need to lower your expectations of the human race! That way you won’t be sooo disappointed…..maybe.

Having said that,my own (somewhat limited) experience of selling on Autotrader has been very good. When I sold my lovely Rapido (which I slightly regret but that’s another story) I had 1 daytripper, one who wanted a caravan, the inevitable pie man with an accent offering me cash, and 3 or 4 serious lookers. One bought it for just under the asking price and I was happy.
You only need one!
Good luck.

Aye it will go eventually, I am getting a fair few enquiries just nothing gone to cash yet

I have mentioned before, motorhome department, note, not depot , we have sold two vans through them, with absolutely no Hassel, you tell them what you want and they then deal with everything.
Completely satisfied with everything about the deal.

I guess I’ve been lucky selling vehicles as they go on the first viewing, I do look after my vehicles and it shows, I remember one time a bloke came to look at a car and he made a stupid offer, I didn’t say a word and just went back in doors and shut the front door leaving him standing there 😆 he must of got the hint as he just left…😎

I’ve done similar with people viewing a House as soon as they start showing negatives l take them back to the front door and say it’s obviously not for you, goodbye.

Normally so do I, the frankia. Hymer, iveco and caravan all sold no problem. Never had as many timewasters as i have had this time.

Everyone that's viewed it has only has positive things to say ...they just haven't had the money .

It’s ridiculous really for them to turn up and waste their time and yours if they haven’t got the money in the first place.

I think that this is the current mentality that everyone has a right to a high standard of living but that someone else should pay. So in this case they are clearly expecting you to drop the price to what they can afford regardless of its true value. But I have to agree with Zoobec .....

Ive lost count of the ones I've had comparing a 2011 2 berth elddis to a 2006 6 berth euramobil.

There's a lot of dafties looking for motorhomes just now it seems

Had that problem when I sold our 1st Hymer, they couldn't understand why I was selling a 5½ year old Hymer for more than they could buy a new Elddis.

That’s good to know . I really don’t want to have a load of time wasters coming to my place !
I can't see how they stop timewasters to be honest . Will still get people viewing that won't buy it.

Estate agents don't stop browsers from viewing houses because you never know who's a timewaster till after they've done the time-wasting.

Sure it might cut out the texters etc but thats about it.

And the way I see it is If I can't sell it at £35k they won't sell it for more to cover there fee. The only thing they can do that I can't is perhaps offer finance

Most of their agents know little about the vans as I've enquired about several they've been selling.

So I'm not convinced.

Maybe advertise at your firm lowest price and state No Reduction in price and Hagglers are not welcome.

Not everyone who views a Motorhome and doesn’t buy though is a time waster. You have to go and see them to get a feel of it, first impressions and all that.

I wonder what that guy would have done that offered you 32k if you had said ok I’ll accept it?
