Tam n pups winter trip 2022

My counter offer of £32,500 has been accepted . Just sorting out a deposit with collection Tuesday.

He's obviously going to want to inspect it before paying for it but really that should be done before he haggles so I've asked for a £500 deposit to hold it which I think is fair as the other person who asked length etc may get in touch and it's currently on gumtree too.

Nice one, make your future ads a week and save yourself 3 weeks!!!

Classified ads always a month but it's mental that folk wait till last minute to do this. Im sure many aren't aware it's not an auction .

But till its collected and paid for I'm counting on nothing .

I'll not delete the gumtree add I'll just mark it as deposit taken.

Once it's been paid

Stick to your guns Tam, it’ll go at that price…😎
Aye he's accepted that . Just waiting on the deposit .

It's a good buy at that price. I just hope he isn't expecting a new van when he comes to collect it. I can't understand why he hasn't taken the offer to phone

I've bought vans blind before I bought this one without seeing it but I spoke to the guy on the phone a good few times first

This is why I said don't get too excited .

This guy obviously doesn't know how deposits work

I just tried calling him and got no answer so I'm assuming he's just pissing about .

Or this is his first ever purchase.

I'll let you know later if anything changes but I can't be doing with this nonsense

I don't mess around when I'm buying stuff I just get on with it.

Amazing how someone could be about to shell out 32k then do a complete 180, it's not a small decision, guess you have just saved yourself a lot more grief as it would seem pretty unlikely they were gonna stump up the money.

I genuinely think they just enjoy the fantasy of it. He was replying fairly quick till he was meant to send deposit. 3 times I suggested he call and then I called him and he didn't answer. I had a gut feeling from the start he was a waster.

If he was genuinely worried about paying a deposit he would have just come up on Tuesday to view it instead.

Just another piloc

I think this is a valid sales tactic. You could advertise at say £40,000 then mark it as reduced to £35,000 with very close offer may be considered … your £33k looks like an amazing bargain.

Quite a few years ago now, an old farmer I knew was trying to sell a van. He advertised it in the local paper , no internet then, at £50 and never had any interest, so someone said it was too cheap ,folks think it's scrap , so the next week he put it on at £100 and sold it as soon as the paper came out.

Have you tried Autotrader, I think you might get more genuine browsers on there.

Does this indicate the market is slowing down and it’s harder to sell now?
Sadly not

Just people are buying old converted transits with 200k miles on the clock at 30k instead

That ugly raptor painted hymer I posted on here the other week sold for £42k

If you look at some of the stuff on quirky campers etc it's ridiculous.

Incidentally that's where mine is getting advertised next.

Tam just put your telephone number on gumtree, dont put your E-mail as it forces them to talk to you and you get the really interested punters👍😁
Alex
Aye unfortunately you also get all the scammers. Gumtree advises these days not to put your number on the add.

Folk also just press call then cancel it and send a text to the number they now have. I've done this myself

Aye its going on quirky campers next beside all the alleged off grid campers with one solar panel.

I'm putting it back up to £36.5k

The fool that flew up from London has his self converted transit with 180k miles on there at 34.5k

Some of them are quite unbelievable uncle lenny you should go take a look.

Or type in offgrid camper on ebay lol its hilarious

And folk buy them , folk claiming a 20l lpg tank lasts 6 months 🤣🤣

My 44l lasts 6 months in summer but there's a reason for that.

I use about 28 Lt in 15 days on average, good job I don't do cold, I wouldn't be able to afford the gas.

That's a lot.

Mine only runs the cooker and water heater usually. Fridge is electric and I think that's the biggest user usually. I had my heating on a few times in Ireland but not since . Had it on for a few hours a few weeks back just to make sure it was all working OK
