Tam n pups winter trip 2022

I've resisted saying anything but hoarding to that extent can be a sign of dementia setting in, my mum did the same and asked hubby to get her loads of stuff that she'd had previously. We thought she really liked it so was scoffing it all but found loads of it in her flat when she went into the care home - it was in her kitchen and bedroom too.

She just didn't think about what she already had and didn't check so kept asking for the same stuff again and again as she was sure she needed it. This also applied to non-groceries too and we found a large shoe box with loads of bus timetables in ... all for the same bus route!

OMG I’ve got dementia…. I keep buying bars of chocolate and loads of ice-cream….😱😎

It could also be a sign that your mum was always poor and hungry as a child and is scared of being without food, like I was and I have a pantry full of tinned food :X3:

Are you sure you have spelt that right? I thought you said you were demented? 😄

I was going to say the same. I think it was to satisfy us as we did her shopping but we now have a stock of Andrex loo roll, yellow Domestos and Dettol spray that will last us years.

I can't remember how many tins of rice pudding, evap milk, fruit etc we discovered ... Donated most of it to my in-laws as they like puddings! 😄 I snaffled the cleaning stuff though ... I think she had half a dozen+ of wup liquid.

Oh she knows full well what she's got. She's done this for years

Keep your eye on the Domestos. My mum had a stockpile and eventually we noticed that some of the older bottles had started to break down at the bottom allowing the bleach to seep out.

So fed up with timewasters .

The clown that viewed the van on Friday and made me late for work.

Heard nothing from him till yesterday when he text at 13.56 asking if he could test drive today or Wednesday. I replied at 14.01 saying today was fine , what time?
No answer since

You never can tell.
We once sold a house and the couple that bought it spent no more that 10 or 15 minutes looking around it.
They didn't appear to be that interested but they ended up buying it.
Other viewers spent hours looking at it, said they were very interested and were going to put in an offer, but we never heard from them again.
Fingers crossed.

Aye and that's the problem . I used to be able to spot a timewaster a mile off but these days they're that good at it

I had told him I was going away with the van tomorrow till Friday as its been great weather and I'm off work so I'd rather he came today.

Latest text from him saying he just finished work and could be here just after 5pm or if I preferred he'd leave it till weekend when I'm back.

I'm just confused at how relaxed or confident he is that no one else buys it while he's dithering around.

I've never had that patience. If I want something I just go and buy it .. I don't faff around like he's doing.

So I've told him it's fine to come tonight as I want him to make his mind up either way.

If he comes and I take him for a test drive and he says " ill think about it" ill be blocking his feckin number.

The ebay add ends on Thursday night. I think most of the folk watching it are just folk from here.

I'm one of them! 🤥But only because I'm a nosey bastard! 😂😂
But as I said previously it only takes one of the watchers to be genuine and start offers an hour before your auction ends to see what you'll take for it (including dealers!)
But yes the test drive boy could be a cool customer in no hurry to buy...
and as I also said previously its always a buyers market
Good luck anyway Tam

Dont worry too much Tam, there's always an Ianthebuilder type chap in the background ready to offer his £1 a week.;)
Its never become so apparent to me that buying something these days is ten times easier than selling something. Which is why I cannot be arsed to use E Bay, as most want it delivered which if heavy/awkward involves too much cost.
Good luck.

Well he's been here another 90 minutes , took him out on a test drive. He's been all round the van once again , been through all the paperwork. Checked all mot history, mileage check etc you feckin name it He's done it.

And still I get " ill need to think about it"

He did mention though he has adhd which is possibly a reason he's annoying

But who knows .

He said he was originally looking for a van between 25 and 30k but obviously likes the solar etc and that's why he's in a quandary.

Can only see if he gets back in touch as he's been told there's nowt else to see , so if he wants it leave a deposit or go buy something else.

I can find some empathy with the guy... Yours is a significant amount over his budget, maybe wipes out any contingency reserves he has, or has to borrow.

He probably knows it's a good van but really too expensive for him that's why he's dithering...

...or he could just be a tyre kicker.

Yeah I get that but he hasn't even tried to make an offer

Yet

Up In Tayport at my usual haunt for a night or two. Give the van a run out as apart from 20 minute test drive yesterday it's not moved since I got home. Surprisingly quiet up here so I've got my usual spot .
