Brake pads breaking up is typical on that sort of use. Surprised you did t change them before setting off.
Are you going to change the rear ones to play safe?

They were fine when I checked them in tafroute. I think it's just they've had a lot of heavy braking etc on some of these steep mountain declines, probably got pretty hot.
 
Said goodbye to Martin and Teresa today and puppy Mia. They are now heading inland towards cordoba etc and in to Portugal in a week or so . I started moving north and I'm parked up in almerimar for the night I'll probably head to Puerto mazarron tomorrow or aguilas depending how I feel .


First time I've been on my own in over 2 months ...its strange

I checked these in tafroute and they still had loads left on them . I guess all those mountain descents and hard braking for pot holes and hidden bumps wore them down fast. Fortunately they held out and no damage to discs

Just one word of advice, I always slide the wheel I take off under the van near the front suspension arm,
just in case the van slips off the jack, then it cannot drop very far,

Very little chance of it slipping off the bottle jack. I carry axle stands but on ground as level as that was it they weren't required
 
Well Northernraider , just caught up, say hello to puerto mazarron and Benicassim for me, wish I was there.
Hope you manage to sort out the insurance ok and safe journey home.
 
Peurto mazarron a bit busier at this time of year but surprisingly no other campers . Had a walk after lunch but ela remembered the rabbits so it was more of a run ... we then moved on a bit and parked up opposite the lagoon from la manga at narejos. Nice beach here too just been for a walk and a paddle .....big green spidey widey on my van ...its about an inch in diameter plus legs

On a CP there is a parking area just down the road with a few vans in it (there is a cars only sign) it's just before the no Motorhome sign but I know the guarda are quite hot on it in this area so didn't risk it.
It was great a few years ago nice spots by the beach, it was the same year we first met in Spain.
