If I decide against building the merc this is the kind of thing I'm thinking of.


Or if I still want a self build then for a compromise on shorter but not narrower

Something like this , I'm thinking of motorbike carrying capabilities with this

Whatever route I go next I want it to be right as believe it or not I'm sick of changing houses. I want the next one to do me at least 3-5 years.

IF I can seriously cope with the smaller space the the merc I have would be my first choice but it's the width that concerns me. ...

The horesbox would be good to covert with much straighter lines and the windows are even at the right height for you

Aye but I'd be taking all those windows out and fitting double glazed ones. It would be a good base for a conversion I reckon .

I have been in a few very nice converted one’s and the lack of space is just not comfortable at all, good for a few weeks here and there, but not for full time living at all, and the older you get, the less climbing and twisting and turning in narrow spaces would feel good, you get fed up with it really quickly, that horsebox looks a nice base, but do you really need all the hassle ? Get a nice van, a quality double floor one and fit it out exact to your requirements , as a full time home I would have thought you current one is pretty much spot on?

It's too big , and doesn't go where I want it to go. I want rear wheel drive and 7 metres. Can't take this down bumpy beach tracks
