Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Me pay to park you got to be joking, can't remember the last time I paid to park in the UK, always park outside the zone and walk or use me bus pass.
As for lunch I've seen NT prices for a bit of cake no way, but I do like my coffee but not if it's more than a couple of Euro.
I think a scone was £4.75 from the quick glance I gave the sign . Mental

Tam have you ever thought of writing a sort of travelogue book of your travels , you could make it picture heavy to lessen the script. There are so many great photos of yours and only us are seeing them . It would be great book

but that aside the causeway itself is amazing , ive never seen anything like it in my life and you would think if you never saw the scale of it that someone had created it and placed the stones there ....its just so weird because go 100 yards either side of it and the rocks are completely normal ,theres just this huge section thats natures crazy paving. Of course its absolutely mobbed and id hazard a guess there were at least 2 thousand people around there and at least 6 but more like 10 national trust busy bodies standing around telling people that "wet stones are slippy " etc
It's something else isn't it? You'd never think it was natural, it's a stunning place. Fingal's Cave on the Isle of Staffa is supposedly part of the same ancient lava flow and is also stunning, though a lot harder to get to! I've been out there twice from Mull and both times there was too much swell to land the boat. 3rd time lucky at some point......

It's been years since I went to the Giant's Causeway - it was about this time of year we went and we were camping with the motorbike (I was made of younger, more impoverished but hardier stuff back then!) - I remember that in late afternoon it was pretty much deserted. Mind you, this is back in the 90's when the Troubles were still ongoing which I'm sure put tourists off visiting NI - though in reality, apart from on one memorable occasion when we came round a bend in a country road near the border to find a whole load of soldiers pointing guns at us from behind some Land Rovers, we would never have known anything was a problem.

Well me fish n chips was lovely although it was £10 , I thought I'd pick it up and drive round to dunluce Castle to eat it and park there overnight, take some pics when it's closed etc but jeeso I parked in the carpark and the van was practically getting blown over ....seriously windy out there. .so I ate my fish n chips and managed to get one photo but holding the phone in that wind is even difficult. Couldn't possibly stay there overnight. So I drove up to the next carpark which is a viewpoint but again the wind is too strong ...thoroughly tested my solar panels. I managed to take 2 photos but really no joke it's taking life in your hands trying to park or stand anywhere on that cliff top tonight. So I've retreated back to Bushmills where I'll stay over tonight. If it's calmer in morning I'll try again to get better pics but if windy I'm just going to head to Coleraine and do my shopping

Wild night last night weather wise , van was getting blown all over the place , rain was wild too. Not great Internet signal there so couldn't upload the pics of white Park bay. The first 9 are from yesterday the last 3 from this morning so you can see the difference in the sea.

Left Bushmills this morning went to Coleraine and got my food shop and topped up with diesel at asda, then headed to white rocks beach for a walk . Can't think why they called it white rock beach. Weather is still stormy , too windy for staying at most of the coast locations I think. So we're having lunch here then heading in to port rush till I do some laundry. Then probably head to Portstewart area I think .

Can recommend the Point Bar at Magilligan Head for a stopover. The Guinness was recommended by some people and it was good (I'm no expert tho). You can wild in the nearby dunes with dog walking around the Martello Tower.
We had a good night a couple of week ago, the food in the hotel was also very good.

I can't believe the cheek o some folk ,there I am sat in the van not 5 foot away from the forecourt launderette waiting on the dryer finishing and the bloke who had come put his washing on after me suddenly appears, opens the drier looks around then opens the empty washing machine and starts lifting my clothes out the dryer and putting them in the empty wet washing machine ...bare in mind here the bloody drier was still going till he opened it. So I opened the door and shouted oi what do you think you're doing ...he declares as he walks towards me dropping my socks all over the carpark " oh you're there , the drier is faulty it just keeps going and I want to put my washing in it" I says well mush you can just put that right back in there , I paid for 40 minutes drying time and I'll be taking the 40 minutes thank you , and you better hope those socks aren't dirty again , bloody cheeky bugger opening a machine while it's still operating. He humphed about it being faulty again and my washing being dry ...and I said to him mate I checked it less than 10 minutes ago and the timer said it had 18 minutes to go . I'll be waiting that 18 minutes thanks .. now put it back and feck off.

Bloody ignorant sod ...he's lucky I didn't set milo on him .

Anyway we then drove on towards Castlerock and I've found a quiet wee place to stop . I reckon it will be dead overnight.

Looks like your getting better weather than us here in eastern France not stopped raining just feels like bonnie Scotland :(

Tam there is a great beach beside you called Benone, it’s mile long and you can drive onto it if you follow the track made by others.
We were on it last summer on a really hot day and there was about 10 cars on it!
