Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Aye that shows it quite well , 4 stone 3lb lost so far. Waist from 40" to 34" t shirts etc down from xxxl to L/xl , not bad. I'd still like to lose that other stone though to get to 15.
Going to cost a fortune in new clothes, that jacket is looking a bit baggy.

Need to get it to a charity shop then you won't be able to afford to put the weight back on.

Has your shopping bill dropped much?
Probably won't be that noticeable with the price increases every week we seem to be getting.

Not really as its more expensive to eat healthy than it is for junk food , I'm around 15 quid just in fruit n veg these days. But that said I was also buying extra of other stuff to stock up that I won't get in Europe. I'll be getting my last asda shop in collerniane on tuesday/Wednesday I think ...nae asda in eire.

As someone who is not far off the same size that you were - do you feel better for it, more energy etc? I started trying properly a couple of weeks ago, 8lbs off so far so not a bad start. My aim is to stop feeling so bloody knackered all the time!

Thank you! 18 stone by Christmas is the current aim, bang on 20 stone today. Like Tam I’m a tall, heavily built chap but that’s still way too much. 15-16 stone I suspect is about right for me too.

Wild night last night weather wise , van was getting blown all over the place , rain was wild too. Not great Internet signal there so couldn't upload the pics of white Park bay. The first 9 are from yesterday the last 3 from this morning so you can see the difference in the sea.

This morning I had planned to take the scooter to visit dunsverick falls and the castle ruins. But the weather was wild and I didn't fancy the scooter in that weather so decided to just drive the road and see if anywhere to stop as there was nothing showing on p4n ....I'm glad I did as there's a huge laybye in dunsverick village just 2 minute's walk from the falls and another layby right at the castle ruins so that saved any hassle. Could have stayed overnight at any of those had I wanted to .

The falls would likely be more impressive had there been rain for days but as it was they weren't flowing hard ...buy the sea made up for it as it was wild , some crazy people were swimming In the pools which was madness with those waves

And we made it back to the van just in time before the heavens opened again and big rain .

So we then drove up the road a bit to find the castle ....didn't have to look far , its closer to the road than it appeared on p4n app

And then on towards the causeway. Point blank refuse to pay £9 to park the van in the causeway carpark so I'm parked up in Bushmills around 2 miles away from the causeway and after I nice bowl of soup we will walk along to see the giants causeway. The forecast says rain is to be off after 1pm so here's hoping. Its lovely and sunny just now at least .

That's all folks !

I think they even charge you to walk to see the causeway, I did it quite a few years ago I had been installing some equipment at an H block prison not far from there so we went to have a look. It was after 6 pm so didn't have to pay.

The causeway is supposed to be free , but apparently some of the carparks around try to charge you for it but numerous comments on park 4 night telling folk to park outwith it and walk in , which is what I'm gonna do. I get annoyed at places trying to charge folk for what nature provided .

To avoid the NT in all its money grabbing glory walk up the hill past the front of the building and turn left from memory. If u carry on up u can walk along the top of the cliffs and down a path/steps to the organ pipes then back along to the causway.
We stopped overnight right on the front in portstewart dont know if still allowed.
If u like ancient tombs try loughcrew cairns but it's just about in the middle- coast to coast.

Never fear I am Scottish and if there's one thing I'm good at it is avoiding giving people my hard earned if I don't need to , I checked before to see if access was free or not so I was aware of their scam tricks . In fact I discovered the £9 parking wasn't even the national trust but a wee scenic railway place that wasn't even open for their own business just there to fleece folk for parking. The national trust car park is even worse at £13.50 to park till 6pm , they also try to steer you through their visitor center, souvenir shop and cafe where a coffee is £5 ...the path to the causeway avoiding this is well hidden behind the coach parking but we found it. Its then a 15 minute walk down to the causeway where several national trust busy bodies keep interfering and advising you where and where not to walk ... that's what the money gets spent on ..employing eedjits. Nothing else because they can't even empty the few bins on route as can be seen

but that aside the causeway itself is amazing , ive never seen anything like it in my life and you would think if you never saw the scale of it that someone had created it and placed the stones there ....its just so weird because go 100 yards either side of it and the rocks are completely normal ,theres just this huge section thats natures crazy paving. Of course its absolutely mobbed and id hazard a guess there were at least 2 thousand people around there and at least 6 but more like 10 national trust busy bodies standing around telling people that "wet stones are slippy " etc

The dogs were a big hit as always and must have had a 100 pets and photos of them taken ... they all peed on the stones and ela left a big wattery surprise that i had to attempt to clean up with little success.

and then it was back to the van for coffee and a custard cream , that's quite a walking we've done today ...God knows how many steps it is for milo with his wee legs .

So tonight I'm having fish and chips from the local chippy with the money I saved from parking in the rip off carparks and with the calories I've burned off today I've earned it.

Me pay to park you got to be joking, can't remember the last time I paid to park in the UK, always park outside the zone and walk or use me bus pass.
As for lunch I've seen NT prices for a bit of cake no way, but I do like my coffee but not if it's more than a couple of Euro.

We await Lenny‘s
reply to that comment 🤔
Just read one of his threads... honestly I nearly cried last time.
