Looking at the avatar it was probably to prevent 'people' being eaten instead! You sure, I've been using that route for 20 years never seen meals included.
Absolutely, First time we had used this route it was a self serve type service, you had a choice of about three or four main courses and all three courses were chosen and were on the tray at once. You sure, I've been using that route for 20 years never seen meals included.
Must have been a special deal as not normal, even used it back in the 80's when tugging no meals included.Absolutely, First time we had used this route it was a self serve type service, you had a choice of about three or four main courses and all three courses were chosen and were on the tray at once.
l had some Beef Stew type meal and the meat was tender with a lovely sauce.
Never having used DFDS previously l thought this was the norm.
I was thinking you might have been one of there Loyalty Clients as you use them so often but now l reckon they’ve never made a bean out of you as the deals you get are so low.On one of their specials I got a return for £79 about 4 years ago.
That’s a shame when we were last there we stopped overnight too. Asked permissionRainy day this morning but looks like it will clear up later. Fortunately I had the good sense to do balintoy harbour yesterday on the scooter while it was sunny . So here's a few photos of that. Once again it was used in game of thrones as the iron islands and the port of lordsport , lovely wee harbour View attachment 669134View attachment 669135View attachment 669136View attachment 669137View attachment 669138View attachment 669139View attachment 669140View attachment 669141View attachment 669142View attachment 669143View attachment 669144View attachment 669145View attachment 669146View attachment 669147View attachment 669148View attachment 669149View attachment 669150
I'm hoping to do the coastal walk along to the rope bridge today ...not crossing the rope bridge as I don't think my vertigo could stand it and I know the dogs wouldn't like it either. But I can hopefully get some pics if it at least. There's a laybye up the road from it I think I can park in as the actual carpark has a height barrier on it.
Just don't even think of taking the dogs across it ... you'll all end up stuck in the middle and have to be rescued by a helicopter! On the road down to Ballintoy you might have noticed the white church. There is a cliff top path from there to the rope bridge. (you would need to keep the dogs on a lead though)
Sadly each year another one or two is brought down by storms or lightning so they may all be gone at some point.
Is that no in the south? On Google that comes up north of Dublin. I'll no be in Dublin till NovemberHey Tam, do NOT miss this when you get nearer, very well worth the visit to the main site but the other 2 smaller ones are good too.

Yes ,dearer over 7m lengthMust be the van size or something.
I've never been able to get a tunnel price anywhere near the ferry cost.Even at 2am I get quoted £160 plus 66 for dogs
Ferry for dogs is immediately 20 quid cheaper .
To me the ferry cost is for the vehicle . The fact that we have dogs doesn't make the cost dearer as it is for the checking. Its the dogs Tam, we've got the same problem .
Yes they have stopped itOH!! That’s changed we got a 3 Course late 2021 coming to Dieppe
DFDS included a meal for each passenger during covid on all routes ,to my knowledgeYou sure, I've been using that route for 20 years never seen meals included.
Aye that shows it quite well , 4 stone 3lb lost so far. Waist from 40" to 34" t shirts etc down from xxxl to L/xl , not bad. I'd still like to lose that other stone though to get to 15.
We managed to park in the laybye just up the road from the rope bridge carpark and walk down. To be honest it's stupid where they have put the barrier as there's a 50 yard driveway from there to the very large carpark that was mostly empty. But being national trust they charge for the carpark and again for those wanting to cross the bridge. So to park a motorhome and walk the bridge would cost £15 . Dogs not allowed to cross the bridge anyway even if we had wanted to. To be honest the amount of hype around this bridge I expected more , there are 2 bars and at least 3 houses in the tiny nearby village of ballintoy named after this bridge ....ie the ropebridge Inn, ropebridge House, the ropebridge coffee shop etc etc...the walk along to it is pleasant but there are better coastal views nearby where you don't have to pay to park so I'm surprised it's as busy as it is.
Personally I was a little disappointed with it but here's the photos so you can make up your own mind.View attachment 669302View attachment 669303View attachment 669304View attachment 669305View attachment 669306View attachment 669307View attachment 669308View attachment 669309View attachment 669310View attachment 669311
