Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Wow ...well this is just a stunning location , easy access to this carpark despite the p4n description saying not for large vehicles. I could drive an Artic down here with no issues. Toilet block open 24/7 so handy if you need that. The walk down is very easy....the walk back up requires a level of fitness as its bloody steep . But well worth it. The castle itself is mostly gone just leaving the ruin of the tower but the backdrop is quite something with views over to rathlin Island and behind that Scotland can clearly be seen. Another beautiful warm sunny day too which is always a bonus for photographs .

I'm really beginning to regret our aborted Irish trip when Covid lockdown started. We had the ferry booked and Spanish friends bought me a travel book on Ireland (in Spanish to keep practicing) for Christmas.

We had to cancel and we don't anticipate taking the motorhome in that direction now.

I'll keep following your photos and trip and live it vicariously.

The Antrim coast is just so lovely, I don't know why it isn't more widely known about. Ireland in general, so long as you avoid the places the coachloads of Americans go to, I always found to be pretty quiet, much more so than comparable places on this side of the water.

Ferry prices will make sure that it keeps quiet

Calias to Dover is £149 as is cairnryan to Belfast. Dublin to holyhead £199

Tunnel for me now £200
Just booked Newhaven/Dieppe for next week £83.
Going back Amsterdam/Newcastle 16 hour crossing with cabin £177.

Must be the van size or something. I can't find any channel crossings for that price for my van and the dogs . For end of November. Cheapest is £149 .

Tunnel is ridiculous price now unless I travel at stupid o'clock

I'm now the only motorhome parked here BUT there are 3 pvc campers , a ducato , a sprinter and a movano and one vw t6

Jesus fffin Christmas, it's like a competition to see who can open and close their doors the most ...its unbelievable. I wish if these idiots can't learn to close doors properly then they would buy vans big enough to travel in that they don't need to keep going in and out all the bloody doors.

In all the years I had vw campers I don't ever recall having to go out the side door to open the front doors etc and why they open the slider close the slider then open the cab close the cab only to open the bloody slider again I don't know.

It can't be accidental it must be deliberate, otherwise every pvc owner must be braindead as all of them are doing it .

Even at 2am I get quoted £160 plus 66 for dogs

Ferry for dogs is immediately 20 quid cheaper .
I don't travel at silly times, Newhaven is 10am, Amsterdam one is 5:30pm.
