Tam n pups winter trip 2022

Well I think 96 is a pretty good innings eh .

In the last 2 years we've lost a lot of folk thar didn't make thar age . And with the cost of living crisis I imagine we will lose a whole load more this winter.

But the world won't stop.
No it won't but they won't have spent over 70 years of their life putting their 'duty' first and foremost, above everything else they did. Perhaps if you can't appreciate the enormity of the service she gave to us all then it might be better not to comment on it.

Depends how you view things doesn't it. I see a highly privileged, very wealthy woman , who has led a privileged life .

I'm not a royalist and personally would like to see the monarchy abolished. There are many people in the world who have done good with a lot less . Those are ones I respect.

So no ill continue to have MY opinion ta muchly.

Wouldn't be so bad if that was the end of it but there will now follow months of TV programs and various other crap continuing to go on about it.

It's a farce.

I avoided commenting on the numerous threads on here about her as I appreciate people are entitled to their opinions on the royals.

But on my own thread I'm entitled to mine.

There's many citizens throughout the UK that really can't be bothered with it being in our faces every which way we turn but can do little about it.

I hope she had a good funeral plan, it looked a tat expensive

Most likely picked up by the tax payer again .
Maybe you should be able to tick a box on your council tax form, if you tick the box because you are a royalist you can pay voluntarily an extra charge each month eh,
I have nothing against people who like to have a king or a queen, we have a king in NL too, albeit the Dutch Royals are a bit more low key, but I do think that we have moved on a bit, it’s 2022, time for a bit of change, take some of the overload of ceremony away.
Also by all means, have a king and queen, but maybe all the hangers on could just get a job?
Everyone is giving Harry and Megs a hard time, but I think after what he went through with his mum, and the fact that he will never become king, I think that he is doing the right thing by looking after his own family, away from what is still a very evil press in the UK.

Manic

Seems you're right enough , that's the only thing driven by that belt so if it starts being noisy again I might just take that belt off for now

I'm sure that will happen now that we have King Charles III as he's already indicated he wants to cut back on the 'hangers on' and frivolity, I don't begrudge the 'pomp' for the Queen as, after 70 years, I think its a very fitting tribute to her, but I doubt if there will ever be anything like it again for any monarch.

I agree, I think he could see that the writing is on the wall for a lot of the Royal family regarding 'duties' and he was likely to have a much lesser role in the future anyway even if he had stayed in the UK, he's making his own life, and paying his own way rather than expecting to be supported by the UK public.

Might be worth watching/listening/reading up on what her daily life was actually like and the amount of work she did right up to the end ... she could've been like you suggest but wasn't in reality. On the day of her funeral I don't propose to 'discuss' this any further in order that I can be respectful to her memory and legacy.

Try the bit of hose stethoscope trick ,its pretty accurate, also locking the ac clutch should eliminate the idle bearing as it doesn't rotate when locked . Just run a wire temp from 12v live to clutch feed wire (when its unplugged) don't do for long as not good for ac pump internals but wont hurt for a few seconds . If a/c pump idle bearing then you have two options , fit a non a/c option belt or get the a/c front clutch repaired/replaced . Not a good idea to ignore as they can seize up .
There is no "idle "bearing on an ac pump. The actual pump is idle until the clutch pulls in. That front plate is basically a metal faced clutch that can be removed by undoing the 8mm head centre bolt . The only bearing is contained in the continually rotating pully & is an interference fit over the clutch solenoid which in turn fits over the front of the pump body & contains the wiring socket for the plug. the solenoid is changable for about 30€ but to my knowledge the rotating pulley isn't unless a pump remanufacturer would sell one.
When you put power to the ac pump it energises the solenoid & pulls the stationary clutch plate back against the pulley face which starts the internal pump rotating. The front clutch plate is shimmed internally between 14 & 30, 000's of an inch & has to be left in place to ensure the pulley doesn't come off.
I'm going to spray some spray grease around the rear of the ac pulley and through the vents on the front of it see if that stops the noise for now.
If it is that it is a minute space between the rotating pulley & the inner sleeve. I was only working on mine last week & had it all off. If it was that & noise has now quietened then you must have managed to get something in there

Moved up the coast this morning and I'm now at Cushendall beach , going to have some lunch then a walk up the cliff path to visit some old church ruins ... stopped for a quick look at a cute harbour on the way up but other than that didn't see anything worth pulling over for. The ac pump is still really noisy so I'm going to take that belt off for now for a quieter life.

I've removed the ac drive belt now and noise has gone , quite a bit sideways play on that pulley and there's a plastic bit on the end that's melted so I think the bearing has overheated. I can't see it being hot enough for me to need aircon on this trip so I'll look at a replacement pump when I'm back home. At least the noise has gone. So covers back on , belts in the garage

Sorry Minxy - not your quote but somehow it got tagged to you! It’s about Harry!

No he wants his cake and eat it - probably all down to her! Not happy for kids to be prince and princess but wants HRH as well - no sorry - not a working royal family!

Maybe I didn't phrase it with clarity , I appreciate that you have covered the subject so that it has brought enlightenment to the masses . Here is the component parts illustrated in this case for a sanden but most are similar :)

Before you shell out for a new pump ensure that it is not just the electro clutch that is the problem with the noise.
Unless the source of the noise is stopping the air con from engaging, you will need to find the source of the leak of gas (you mentioned previously the system had no gas in it) that is unlikely to be caused by the clutch

I don't know if it has no gas . It just isn't cold so I assumed that's the problem as it usually is. But its not something I'm too bothered with .

can i pop my pennyworth in about your air con?
if you do go over to marocco you might possibly need it, can get quite hot over there, but having said that and having readi lots of threads from those who have been, seems like if you want a job done over there, there are plenty of good and cheap mechanics there that do a good job..
just thought it was worth mentioning..

.

Moved a few miles up from Cushendall to cushenden as I wanted to visit one of the many game of thrones film locations that are in this area , they lie in the pretty wee village of cushendun. 5 other motorhomes here that are all squished in down the bottom of the carpark but I've got a nice wee bit on my own with a nice view of the harbour. The scenic road to Torr head starts here too but not sure I can take the motorhome on that road so I might leave it here tomorrow and scooter up to Torr head for a look .

Ah recognise a few of those photos from the series. The small beach leading to caves was like the back exit in to King's Landing wasn't it?

Jaime Lannister not have a particularly nasty sword fight there? 🤔

If it doesn't need a pump & you can obtain what tacr2man has posted in eu or uk, or even US, that would be less than an hours work to fit with the room you have there.

Thanks for that. When I was looking a couple of weeks back the only thing i could find was a new solenoid.
Quite annoying isn't it the amount of stuff easily available in the US . My mate can find any amount of old merc new parts at reasonable prices in the US that are unobtanium in europe .
At least Tam could get one from the UD at those prices + duty & vat far cheaper than a replacment pump is likely to be?

Aye in season 8 Jamie fought in that cave . But it was also in season 2 where misandre gave birth to the shadow demon

Nice, are some of your other photos other locations from GOT?

I'm starting to really enjoy the spin off series that has recently started. Forgot the name of it 🙈
