Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

I'm the same age as Tams mum and I'd be mighty annoyed if any one started looking around quietly for somewhere for me to go, without discussing it with me first, as long as Tams mum has all her faculty's her input is important.

I agree with you about that Carol her input is paramount but I wouldn't even raise the subject if I hadn't seen anywhere decent in the neighbourhood first.

The elderly mother in law of a friend had been born and raised on a croft in the highlands, married her next door neighbour and raised her own family, ultimately was widowed and struggling to live alone.
After several falls she finally agreed to go into a home.
She wondered why she had not done it years earler! She was warm and well cared for, could do as much or as little for herself as she wished. Had trips out and entertainment laid on and could receive visitors at any time.
She had five or so very happy years before passing away.
I realise one hears horror stories but there must also be a lot of happy ones that one never hears about.
It might be worth liasing with the rest of your family and quietly looking around your neighbourhood for such a place.
Sorry Tam but it might be worth considering.
Not happening ....no chance

My mum was born in this house and she says she will leave it in a box.

I watched a few aunties just waste away in homes and unless there ever comes a time where she needed constant medical assistance like in hospital. ..ill do my utmost to ensure she gets to stay in her own house.

Bloody insurance companies
I can't believe it's costing me more to insure a cheap little banger worth £350 than i pay for a 45 grand motorhome

What's happened to insurance since I've been travelling ....seven different companies I've tried and despite my lowest quote being £208 as soon as I say I'm buying the car today it jumps up by another £150

Is this some new crap they've invented bevause I've never had this before

And the excess is the same value as the car so the insurance is worthless exceot for being a legal requirement

Was in seeing mum again tonight...shes more switched on which is good and they now have an idea what's causing the pain.

She has a large abscess around her hip joint and infection in her knee joint and her hip.
So she's on iv antibiotics in the hospital for the next six weeks, her feet are still a right mess and they think that's possibly where the infection has got in. So I now need to find some sort of work while I'm back here bit not sure what I'm going to do with jade while I do that. I guess I'll just have to cross that bridge when I come to it but gonna check a few agencies out on Monday ..amazon is also hiring which is in my town and I have 12 years warehouse experience ....not what I want to be doing but I can't be living on my savings while I'm here so will have to do something

Thank goodness they now have some idea what is causing the pain. It must have been horrendous, I know what it is like if a thorn or splinter goes septic. Your poor Mum.
Good luck with the job hunting - you can't really plan for Jude til you know what is involved.

Glug! I feel a bit faint, I think I'll go and have a lie down. (having first checked my bedding for any of his brethren )

Well mum seems a little better so the antibiotics are obviously helping...but she will be in hospital for at least 6 weeks they say.

So I'm parked up in the driveway for at least that time ...I really need to think of what I'm going to do work wise at the minute as I need to do something...just not sure what and what i do with jade lol

But she's been gifted a nice wee bed from her grandma that's she's loving which is good because I'm hoping it will let her develop some familiarity and then if she has to go in to the house or indeed my next van she will have something that's hers and she's familiar with :)

A little stray dog will think she is in heaven !:D. If you do have to leave her either in the house or your next van, as well as the bed it would be a good idea to leave her with a T-shirt you have just taken off. So she can cuddle in to your scent.

Good grief I don't believe this I've just had a guy from Blackpool phone me he travelled up to buy a burstner i810 and it wasn't as described so he wants to come see mine now and will be here in 35 mins

Franky is like a coup as I've got stuff all pulled out everywhere as I'm sorting out what I'm keeping and getting rid of

I've told him he's just going to have to take me as he finds me as it's not the tidiest or cleanest right now can only see what he thinks but I'd have prefferred to have her nice and clean and empty for viewers
And i need more notice for that

Having been in your van Tam if the guy coming to see it is serious then he will buy it for sure!

Good luck :)

I advertised my van on this site earlier in the year. The buyer travelled from Suffolk to the site I was on at Newark on Trent & bought it at first sight. It had been on the road for 6 weeks at that point and we had our three dogs with us. He had a budget £10K over my asking price but he said he knew a good van when he saw one and several he'd looked at at the upper end of his budget were, as he put it, rubbish. Good luck with yours.

Good luck with the viewing Tam. When i sold my Trigano pvc earlier in the year the chap came from Scotland to buy, flew down to Exeter & drove it home.

Good luck! Four of our teachers staff members leave their dogs in car in shade whilst working. They do get out at lunch so never more than 4 hours at a stretch but it works for them! Hope your mum improves ... 6 weeks must seem dreadful for her.

Good luck with the sale tam,,, looks like I’ve been gazumped again !!!!! Lol x

No posts from Tam, must have sold and he can’t see the keyboard through the tears.

Funny you should say that but Amazon are hiring and that's my line is warehousing so that might be the plan although I signed up with a driving agency this morning.

Nice healthy bank balance just now I've never had that much in the bank as I'd bought franky begore my house sale funds cleared lol.

So I just worked it out and I'm only 15k down since August last year.

That's including all my travelling and living expenses for 9 months travel plus all my living costs so I can't complain at that.

Now I just need the right van for me to come up for sale.

Someone taking the scooter tomorrow

Oops, was he too slow off the mark?
