Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Just been for a walk on the beach and it's true puppies are like girl magnets .....and jade is great at wrapping her extending lead round them so they can't escape :p

And then we met a solo travelling Belgian girl in a camper who had dog treats but no dog

Now that's a weird coincedance is it not :)
Have had loads of Belgian chocolate , but never tried ...................;).

Ah well that's Maria the Belgian off ...shes heading north I'm heading south ....good night though :D jade was slightly jealous but Maria gave her a couple of ribs so I think she's got over it.

Think jade and I might go for a cycle now ...beautiful day here today 22° and no wind

Please not ribs. They shatter when chewed and if swallowed they’ve leave very sharp points which can perforate the stomach and bowel. Big knuckle bones or those bleached ones which are good for teeth and don’t break into pieces.

You need to cover that pups eyes up with some of the things that will be going on in that van, disgraceful behaviour.

How did Jade get on on the van when you left her on your cycle ride, great pictures again. (y)

Shit I didn't know that ...shes eaten it now ...it was cooked so I figured it would be ok.

Yes Carol she was fine ....i was only away about 1 hour 45 mins think she slept most of it and then she came out on the bike with me for a while.
She's got quite used to it now ....would even go as far as to say she enjoyed it.

great pic again we were there last year nice town I wish you would stop making me jealous :(

I'll be surprised (but happy for you) if jade never gets up to mischief when left for prolonged periods. Among other things we've caught Roly chewing the door of the fridge even when we're in the room. We couldn't consider leaving her alone out of her crate just yet, if only for her own safety.

If jade carries on being so good we'll call her SuperJade.

So far the only thing she chews is her chew toys, her lead and the blanket i got for her and nothing else....im hoping she stays as good as it was my main concern with a dog.

That's it........We've definitely got the wrong dog  I'm on my 3rd pair of slippers despite being vigilant. And we're not a soft touch, well maybe a little bit!

She has to travel in a crate in the car because she was chewing all the restraint straps. Jade's a very well behaved dawgy.

Now you didn't encourage her with a slipper at anytime did you or buy her a toy one?

She chews at the lead and will occasionally try to chew on the harness but if I then give her the chew toy she tends to stop.

I may have just got lucky but she's really a very chilled dog in the van.

Outside she can go nuts lol

We've just been out for an hour on the bike and she just sits there with her front legs on the side and watches the world go by.

I think she's maybe barked twice in the time I've had her and the only time she growls is when I'm giving her a cuddle lol.

Everyone she meets says how placcid she is.

Tried her running alongside the bike on her lead there for a bit too and she was doing okay ....

Noooo absolutely not! She's just a maniac hooligan. There's 2 of us and quite honestly we're exhausted with her shenanigans.

That's great, you don't need a destructive puppy in a moho.

Lol that made me laugh ....she does look a wild one in that avatar pic ...but she may well grow out of it.
Jade does seem very clever and who knows maybe she is just greatful for being given a more active life outside of the shelter...i don't know I just hope it continues

Raw bones in general are safe - after all that's how they would be if she was catching her own dinner. Cooked bones from any source can be dangerous.

Never give a dog cooked bones they splinter very easily. A lot of people feed dogs a raw diet which can include raw bones but I don’t like the idea, when I was a child we lost a Great Dane as he got hold of some Oxtail bones, had to be put down.
The other problem with bones is if your dog isn’t used to them a bone can produce some pretty potent farts!!!

Will bare that in mind .....i was somewhat distracted when she gave them to jade

Have tried the 'RAW' diet with our dogs - a great idea but there is a bit more to it. The breeder who we got one of our dogs off was an advocate of the 'RAW' diet. They only fed raw meat and nothing else. Researching it we found that you were also meant to balance it with vegetables, etc. Love the idea, but, if you are in a M/H not exactly practical.

I'll stick to the dried food and I give her fruit and carrots as treats etc

Morning folks time to move today ...ive got to go find an aire to empty and fill tanks this morning and then I'm going to head to taberna and check out Europe's only desert and fort bravo where all the old western were filmed. I believe you can park overnight there included in the admission fee :)

Pics later no doubt. ..have a good day

So we visited fort bravo today to be honest it's a little lame and not sure it's worth €20 But it was interesting to see while in the area.
There was a little show on in the saloon with a few cowboys having a dispute over a card game and then a shootout but it was in Spanish so didn't understand most of it.
Poor jade got the fright of her life at the gunshots I could feel her wee heart going mental. .but she was fine after the first 2 after she realised it was just a noise
Good firework training I guess.
Here's some pics of the fort and town buildings .....gonna have some lunch then drive in to the desert a bit for a parking spot

Raw is impossible in a mh. We feed raw (with veg) at home. It's brilliant for the dogs but needs a strong stomach to handle. It contains a substantial quatity of crushed / ground bone. We use Lilys Kitchen dried when travelling.
