Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Be careful with the rawhide chews as they go all wet slippery if they chew them a lot,I knew someone who's dog choked on one and died as the couldn't get it out of her throat because it was too slippy!! There has been a lot of incidence with dogs and pups choking on them. I personally have never bought them for my dogs..your better of with a good hard knuckle bone.

It's all part of the plan - you fall head-over-heels in love and move a few hundred miles away before you find out that she's really a little monster...

Aww I don't mind her lying up here when there's throws covering everything. But she only gets up if I pick her up or invite her up

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: wait until she's big enough to jump up there herself. Will you have the heart to push her down? Or the energy to make her get off about 153 times until she gets the message? And she's soooo cuddly ;)

Glad she's settling in well but I'm with those who think this is the calm before the storm. Hope I'm wrong.

Karen

We shared an apple earlier she liked that :)

Our little monster in the avatar is 8.5 kg, just to give you an idea of size. She will happily eat all fruit, except rhubarb, and loves to snuggle up when I am trying to do things on the computer.

Then we had an "A" Class she used to happily sleep on the dashboard area during the daytime when the screen cover wasn't in place. However, she is a very noisy guardian of our camping car. If anyone approaches she lets us know. That is a bit of a nuisance when we are at a rally, here in France.

Keep the pics coming

John

Yes she's learnt a lot today. .she can now jump up on the sofa herself ....but to be fair she lies on her own blanket on it so not too bad.
She's also mastered getting in the van step ...has a bit of a scramble but can do it and has managed to get down it once so far.

She still hasn't learned the don't tangle yiur lead round everything yet though which I do hope comes soon.

She's zonked out again now after eating her dinner.

You're about a month behind us in puppy age so its interesting to compare. Every day Roly reaches new heights. She's desperate to get on the bed. She's not allowed in the bedroom but when she does slip in there its 'wayhey game on'.

We don't know yet what personality Jade will eventually have. She may calm down very quickly. But I've been tipped onto my backside by Roly's over excited play with another dog when she ran through my legs. I went down like a sack of spuds and felt a right lemon. Then both dogs piled on for playtime. She's a spaniel and I think calm is a long way off.

I'm sure you don't regret your decision one bit.

What behind the bike ?

We have a mud-seeking labradoodle ... bought a “doggy bag” at the motorhome show and used it yesterday for the first time after we hosed him off. Flipping amazing. Cost the earth but he was dry in 5 minutes!
A 'onesie' is cheaper:LOL:

Yes mine aet most fruit except bananas. Oranges a speciality. One in my avata , Lopez, you didn't even have to do anything she would sit there & peel them between her paws before eating. Another of her specialities was reclining on guard in the shade under the grapevine & plucking one off now & then like Cleopatra.
Veg as well ,tomatoes, broccoli, cauli, etc;

Apple is good ours always has the core but remove the pips they contain cyanide!
Get her on carrots they’re great for a chew, there is a lot of veg she can have there’s a list online of of good ones and no-nos like onion.
Ours has her supper then has a selection of veg for afters-helps clean her teeth too!

Tam, I think the Jesus roof mascot would look much better if you mounted it towards the front of the van (y)

P.S. You've got me yearning for getting another dog, you swine!

Be careful with grapes - apparently they can cause kidney failure if eaten in any quantity.

Morning peeps I'm glad to say another successful night . She slept through from around 12.30 till 6.20 just been out for her early morning pee and no accidents over night

Problem is I'm knackered and would like to sleep more and she's all excited and wants cuddles and to say good morning.

One side says leave her to settle ( she's whining a little) the other says oh just let her come to bed for a cuddle you heartless sod .

I don't want to create a bad habit

Other choice is just get up and hope she gets In the habit of sleeping longer lol

I gave in and just got up so she can have a cuddle....as she's been such a good girl with the toilet and I don't want her picking up wrong signal.....might need a siesta later

Oh by the way thanks for all the goods and bads regarding food .
Good idea on the carrots too ...might help her teeth

A friend had sent me this the other day too which helps.

Tam if Jade is whining try putting a clock in beside her so she hears the tick.

Our dog trainer taught us not to make a fuss of them but just to ignore it otherwise they can associate whining with being rewarded with praise. Try throwing a cover over her crate so its like a wee den for Jade.

I know ...its like I know all the things I'm supposed to do. .but then I argue with myself lol.
I took her out for a wee then brought her back in and put her back in her crate . That's when she started whining so then I'm thinking is this creating a negative experience for her while I should be rewarding her for no accidents.
In the end I figured I'd just get up and let her out and we had a cuddle on the sofa where as usual she fell asleep the stinker.
Small steps I guess ....weve just been out for a wee walk and caught a bit of the sunrise
