Tam, Jade and Franky's European Adventure

Sorry to hear your set back with your mum, does she have a TV in her room will she read at all, she must be so frustrated, and sadly taking it out on nearest and dearest.

Love the number plate how many connotations does it have
FLT Obviously Free loading T****
FLT Fun loving traveller
lots more I'm sure

You surely do not want to deprive a VW T4 FLT of the chance to have that one do you?

Try to handle the difficult job of keeping cool with your Mum. You have all of our support. But if necessary sound of to us - we will understand.

No tv in the room but there was in the last one and she seems to find it annoying or says so.
We have put films etc on to her tablet and she watches the odd one on that buy did tend to just watch ( and comment ) on everything going on around her or sleep.
I get she's frustrated etc and she keeps saying she wants out of there unfortunately she won't listen that the only way out is to get better or they won't let her home.

The plate is quite apt I thought

Tam 4 fun loving travelling :)

And if I was ever to go back to a vw t4 lol

But it's £500 So haven't decided yet

I try to be very calm with her the problem with my mum is she's a very strong character so she can be a bit of a bully when she wants to be...sister was in tears with her the other week

And the nurses get a tongue lashing from her too some justified others not so much.

I just want her out of there and back on her feet asap

I can't believe there's that many views on this to be honest 1000 a day is unreal

I only do 9950 of them

I’m sorry your mum isn’t behaving herself but being ill is no fun and she’s probably fed up with being in Hospital!
Thank you for your concern for me.

I loved the pic of Jade in her coat. If you put it on her just for a few mins a day she will get used to it, extend the time she wears it slowly and you’ll find if she wears it out in some foul weather she will realise it helps.

G hates her fleece but if the weather is c...p she puts up with it, as for a harness.....!
Everytime I want to put the harness on her she tries to hide, when I trick her she stands still until it’s on then she runs-anywhere just runs, once she’s calmed down & the lead is on she’s fine!
You can’t even talk about it, as soon as she hears the word ‘harness’ she’s off!

Good luck with the van screen!

I know she's probably fed up etc ...But she needs to use that as determination to get better and get home.

I'm glad your feeling better:)

With jades coat I think it's just a bit too small she lets me put anything on her apart from her halti which she hates but is fine once in it and it does stop her pulling.

I thought she'd feel the cold etc more but honestly doesn't seem phased by it and doesn't seem to mind the rain either it's just me that doesn't want a wet muddy dog lol.

The harness she's quite used to but I tend to use it mostly for in the van and on the bike as if she's wearing it when off the lead she gets that filthy too.

Speaking of the bike I managed to get a rack I adapted to fit her basket on the front so now we will be like ET

I got G a Equafleece, she’s not impressed but it helps keep her clean-ish & they shed water off for several hours even in heavy rain!

I would prefer the 'T*sser' description than being equated with 'Travellers'
Not me I've met some lovely travellers.

The venom that some on this site spit towards what they consider an flt is often outrageous so while I make jokingly call myself one I'm not.

But there is a difference between a traveller and a p1key

I prefer not to be described as a 'Traveller', because that word has been commonly used, in the Press, Council meetings and now in the public's perception, to describe groups of people with caravans, motorhomes and other vehcles, who often by forced entry trespass/illegally park on land and try to stay for extended periods, leaving litter and detritus, and by their own admission, prefer not to use on-board toilets because they are too close to the kitchen.

I think the press use the term 'Traveller' because they are frightened to use any other term used in colloquial speech. I therefore think the distinction you make is not often made, for that reason. So 'traveller' has acquired a negative connotation, which I think you and I, and many others should not be associated with, as we are responsible wildcampers.

I cannot find your post about tilting the solar panel to the sun and I did not have time to reply at the time.

I have read several posts on different forums about this subject.

The conclusion about tilting seems to be as follows.

Unless one has some sort of automatic sun follower system, or one is prepared to adjust the orientation on an hourly basis, it is not efficient.

The reasoning is that if the tilt were set to South, assuming one could position the MH, or the solar panel, to be able to do that, then in the early morning with the sun in the East it would receive no charge, whereas a flat panel would receive some charge, albeit at Cosine Theta. Similarly towards sunset.

Tests proved that over a day a flat panel would receive more sunlight and charge, spread over more hours, albeit not the same maximum at midday.

I personally abandonned the idea.

What has happened this thread?
Franky has moved on, Tam is at home ie not in Europe, looking after his poorly Mum is his priority and Jade is sulking after being stuffed into a ridiculous coat two sizes too small.

He's probably slipped in to a deep depression from all this rain we have been having. (n)

Hi guys I'm afraid I'm just not the best company at the minute.
Mum's a lot worse not better and at this time I don't think she's going to be coming out of hospital.
I'm obviously worried and upset about that and I only pop on just now for a bit of distraction but I'm moody angry and borderline depressed so probably not the best place to be.
Having a family meeting with doctors tomorrow to see what's next.

Have finally had insurance approval to have psv do my windscreen so that should happen soon.
Jade is fine nothing to report there.

I'm fed up of the cold and rain and basically walk dog visit mum or sit in the house in front of the goggle box lol ....such is life.

Really want to be somewhere else but that's looking unlikely for a while.
