Tam & co the great winter escape

That disc is nothing that 5 min with an angle grinder won't sort with a man of your talents.:rofl::rofl:
Aye ... problem is i don't have my grinder with me 😁 but it will be fine for now. Ive phoned ahead to Thessaloniki and theres a place has the pads so ill get them tomorrow at least. Hopefully greasing up the now free sliders will solve the problem. But as a precaution im only fitting new pads on this side for now as the other side is fine anyway. That way just incase they wear down again quickly ive a spare pair to get me out of trouble.

Tell me I'm being too cautious. I won't mind but (especially if the roads are slippery) I would change both sides and keep the part worn ones for emergency. Coefficient of friction isn't necessarily the same between one manufacturer and another, certainly when hot or part worn.

Your being too cautious 😊🙊
You are right it is good practice to change a complete set.
Compared to the miles done by the brakes and suspension overall the difference between each side and front to back and that it is likely that the discs are not worn equally I doubt very much it will be a show stopper.

Normally i would always change both sides but because of the situation with the disc and the caliper sliders on this side i may have other issues later before im back home so for now it saves me having to strip down both sides etc ill just take the wheel off this side ...stick new pads in and some grease on the sliders and see how it goes. I'll more than likely have to do some work on the brakes for its MOT when i get back anyway.

Parked up at methoni for tonight on the edge of Aliakmonas nature park ....cant believe ive not seen another camper since i left thermoplyae and not seen a Brit since napflion but 10 minutes after i parked here a young couple from Sheffield pulled in with a converted sprinter...they just arrived in greece yesterday from italy and are heading to Turkey as nearly out of shengen time too.....it seems the only vans north of the Peloponnese are heading to Turkey. Milo and ela had to embarrass me by eating poo while i was talking to them ..... bloody dugs

Not so cold again tonight thankfully

Few flamingos in the bay

Theres also a couple of very friendly strays( they have no collars but might not be strays ....hard to tell sometimes) appeared now that are desperate for cuddles.

Northernraider In view of wear on that side when you get new pads put new ones in good side , and fit the old ones from good side into the side that you are not sure about , that way if it continues with prob you are only wasting the part worn pads , bit more work tho :(

In Thessaloniki now ....wow this place os massive ...has to be the largest city ive ever been in and its a nightmare to drive in ...off course the parts place would be right in the centre...what a nightmare for parking so i just abandoned it with the hazards like everyone else. Picked up the pads and now parked on the dockside to have lunch before getting the hell out of here. Lovely sunny day again though ...which makes it feel much warmer

Yes brushing and olive oil in their food ...gives a lovely coat

That, probably, answers the question of why my 70+yr old skin is so smooth.

I had put it down to clean living and not getting too involved with women! What a waste! :crying: where's that floozy with the wine???

The museum is brilliant. I specially remember the greaves worn by Alexander's father!
