Tam & co the great winter escape

She may not be scared as such but nervous. You know you're giving her a better life but she just knows she's been taken away from everything familiar. It will take time and you're doing all the right things. Although if she wanted to lie in the van, I think I might have just left her.
I did leave her for a good while ....but she had a long rope attached to her harness and to the wheel of the van so i couldn't close the door etc and i think she was mostly just feeling nervous having the rope attached. So after a while i tried to coax her out and in the end lifted her out so she knew having the rope attached wasn't anything to be scared of it was just a longer lead. Once she was out had a cuddle and then came down the beach on the rope she was much more relaxed and having fun being able to explore a bit further but still not able to wander off.

Every day she gets better ....

They are getting better at waiting for dinner too .....she stares for a bit while im eating and then if i just dont make eye contact she gives up and lies down. Having to train Milo with this too because he got away with it ..... jade has always been good at not watching me when im eating she's always looked away ....milo on the other hand drove me nuts. But they are both improving. I'm imposing new rules in here now i have 3 ....i should really have been stricter with Milo in some ways but he got off with it.

But he is learning too ...

I wonder which will come first??
1, Tams amazing news

Or

2, My results from my return to U.K. PCR test?

It’s on a knife edge!🤣🤣
Tam wins by a day and a bit, test just come back negative, only took 4 days (but two were a weekend)😤😤 Back to work tomorrow🙄

Thats the thing though ....no one even batted an eye at the dogs when going through borders at Croatia , Montenegro, albania or entering greece .

But not sure if they would on return from Turkey thats the problem.

Why not suck it and see. Try entering/leaving Turkey early and then IF you need it you'll have time to get one?

Problem is, if he is let into Turkey and then can't bring the dog out I believe he cannot have a blood test done in a non EU lab as it will not count on its EU passport.
I may be wrong here but, its a case of do you feel lucky!

That'd be a hell of a risk :cautious: .

A titre test is required for pets entering Turkey and for entering the EU from a high rabies country which Turkey is classed as so you'd need it for sure.

A rabies titre test is required for all pets entering Turkey. It is highly recommended that the blood sample is taken 30 days after the vaccination against rabies. The blood must be sent to a government approved laboratory for testing. There is no waiting period after the satisfactory result has been obtained before your pet can enter Turkey.

Hmmm! So is it prudent for him to avoid Turkey then?

Yep I've seen that but it seems that going by road no one pays any attention 🤷🏻‍♂️ , that's why i was asking if anyone on here had done it . Because there's a few people i follow on Instagram that have been in and out of turkey with dogs and none have mentioned it ....one of the french couples i met last year that took in a stray ..stefan and valentine also spent a few months there....so who knows.

But its also a worry incase anyone did check . Like i said no one batted an eye at Albania greek border and by the sounds of things they should have.

So at the minute im unsure about turkey because it is a gamble of whether anyone would actually check. Im not sure the road borders actually have the staff or knowledge to be honest as the ones ive crossed so far seem to be just interested in covid status. .. but would be a nightmare if i got in ok then had problems re entering Greece

Anyone know the situation for taking a dog from turkey in to Bulgaria 😉

And yes i am looking for a way to get around this if need be.
You may not be a fan or follower but John & Mandy are in, or around the borders you are looking to cross, they have a dog with them perhaps they can help.
I believe they are on Instagram and contactable via that platform.

Ela looks like she's enjoying herself now :xThumb:
Yes they've had good fun today ....lots of time on the beach , milo swimming , ela digging holes , jade thinking both are crazy.
