Tam & co the great winter escape

Shame you don’t surf Tam, Ireland has some fantastic surf spots and the Guinness is great. The peaple are so nice especially when you go off the beaten track. I used to go every year for a surf trip in September or early october. Surf all day and drink Guinness all night. (y) I love the Irish ladies also. (y)

That's the car now sold so it should be all systems go for departure on Saturday.

I've got friends coming over tomorrow night and Friday night for a fairwell takeaway

Mum has her pre op assessment tomorrow at hospital and she's going back in on the 26th for surgery to have the full knee replaced and scar tissue removed so hopefully that will give her back some mobility

I don't know if your interested or can be bothered Tam, but on top of you headlights is a clear plastic cap, if you remove it you will feel a tiny switch for changing your headlights to a flat beam. 😁
I did mine and it passed the mot for the next 4 years, and switched them back when we sold it. 😎
It's OK if you have small fingers, that why I sikaflex the handle on them, 😜 it was easier than cutting some fiberglass away. 😎 Bob.

I'll have a look at that. But to be honest I rarely drive in the dark

It is going to be quiet on here for the next few days, I think.

Gina.

Problem with alarm systems are they are only any deterrent if there are other people (who care) in the immediate area.
But if there are two or three vans parked in an area its the one without the alarm that will be broken into if the scrots are about.

Doggy worming tablets

Does anyone know if you need any specific brands etc for use coming back in to the UK. I've normally just got the vet ones when we've went but they have varied from vet to vet so I've bought some online that's pork flavoured . Never thought to check if they had to be a specific brand or not
Which ones have you bought Tam?

They must contain certain ingredients that is all I know.
I believe they are prescription only .

But I could be talking total B Xxx
Yup you are talking B Xxx! :giggle: Well partly anyway! It depends which ones you want, the more 'inclusive' ones such as Advantix are prescription only but Drontal isn't and meets the requirements for returning to the UK.

This are the two criteria listed on the gov.uk page:

The treatment must:
  • be approved for use in the country it’s being given in
  • contain praziquantel or an equivalent proven to be effective against the Echinococcus multilocularis tapeworm
We get Drontal tasty bone ones, the below is a link to the ones we use but its not necessarily the cheapest place, just an example:

MH alarm - we've got an Autowatch on our Carthago and had the same thing on our last 3 PVCs and I think on at least a couple of coachbuilts prior as well. Very happy with them especially as they have a good network of fitters and don't charge an arm and a leg but the job nicely.

Alarm info here:

Example of one fitter and cost:

It's got the right ingredient in it (Praziquantel) but it's whether or not it's approved where you're travelling back from, eg France, Holland, Spain etc. If not then getting them from the vet won't cost a lot anyway so you can use these whilst away as it's best to do them regularly when in countries with lots of stray dogs etc.
Aye I've got 2 boxes of them . Depending how my return trip goes I might do vet stuff in North Spain then straight up to calais but we will see

I won't be south till end of November.

I can come visit if you're missing me lol

You any idea how to wire a d1 signal from alternator to b2b lol
D+ silly boy.
What electrics do you have Elektroblock or CBE?
Converters normally fit a relay to distribute the D+ so as not to overload the alternator.
If fitting a B2B you will need to disable the spit charge relay.

The b2b is already fitted ...just at present I've to go in the back and flick a switch to put it on and off which is a pita.

That doesn't appear to have a control unit, did you buy it separately?
No I have 2 different sets one multicoloured and one white . That link is the white ones. The multicoloured ones I have are battery operated and remote control
