Tam & co the great winter escape

It ain't called the Emerald Isle for nothing ... it's soo green and lush due to all the rain it gets. :giggle: Might be an idea to have a shuftie at the weather stats, rainfall etc for autumn/winter and see if it's worth the hassle/expense.
I'm used to crap weather...I was never going to Ireland for the weather it's the scenery I want to see. But hopefully I'll get some sun in Spain and Morocco afterwards

Tam I took note of your soup choice and today while away in the van gave it a try, I'd say well worth carrying in the van store cupboard Ed enjoyed it.

I like it , it's low calorie, tasty and convenient.

What more is there to ask for

We must be the exception to the rule, just visited son in west cork, wall to wall sunshine for over 2 weeks 🌞:dance2:went up to Kerry, Dingle etc had the best time
First rain was on our way back to Rosslare for ferry home on Monday
Good luck on your trip Tam 🤞 Hobnob's looking great. Look forward to seeing Ela & other 2 of course having fun on the beaches
Yes I'm looking forward to the beauty and remoteness of the west coast...I'm hoping it will be quieter at this time of year and easy for park ups ...dogs will love it

Just taken the merc out for a wee run and to put some diesel in it .. its amazing how much attention this old van gets. I can only assume its because you don't see many of them on the roads these days but it certainly turns heads.

It's running well now that I sussed out the fast idle valve ...ticks over nice and smooth

It's actually quite surprising how original and good condition the cab is in it too . Even the steering wheel isn't worn

I'm giving up doing travel threads due to lack of "traffic", but I'm hoping to be seen in a thread of Tam's if he gets to our neck of the woods in Spain and we're not off gallivanting.

I'll definitely be in your neck of the woods as I plan to get the dogs titre tests done around there. And if I can get decent park ups around there since the new restrictions came in

We'll have to guess whether your brown 'tan' is from sunshine or rust! :giggle:

Any idea what it's history is? It's clearly had a very gentle life compared to most vans. There must be very few of that age left.

I've no idea but it's unusual to not have a side door of any description either or any roof vents. It's pretty straight bodywork too so it's maybe been a camper for a long time.

I thought there were a lot of places round there had stopped vans parking up off site.

Or was that mostly for covid ?

Mazarron threatened to stop people parking but, as far as I know, it's not happened yet.

Your quieter places are, probably, mostly, still available.

We've parked all over the region during Covid and had no problems. We've even been forced into finding local gems!

Yeah there are a few of the busier spots I'd like to visit again though ...there was a nice spot at roquetas and another not far from gus-lopez playa carolina or something.

Sounds quite likely. May have started off with a public body of some kind, some of their vehicles get a very easy life.

Here's another few tunes for you to appreciate ....

First up ...Jesus on a geeetarrr 😉

Then one of my favourite singers ....I've had the pleasure to see live 5 times and this is my favourite bestest track of his especially this live extended version the guy playing the whatgy mcallit is awesome ...gaun yersel davey lad

And finally this fella Johnathon Roy....another great voice ....

I'm still looking for drone music 😁

David Grey, absolutely brilliant, no flashing lights, dancers, fancy costumes etc. Relies entirely on his music, backing musicians and talent. Holds the audience from start to finish.

It just comes up with black screen saying this video is private Tam👍
That's strange ...its meant to be private but visible to those I share link with. Think it's this new phone That's causing issues
