Tam & co the great winter escape

The b2b is already fitted ...just at present I've to go in the back and flick a switch to put it on and off which is a pita.
What B2B is it?
You could just wire it to a switched ignition source like the radio ACC connection or anything that is only on when the ignition is on.

Its a renogy 40amp ...it works OK on the existing switch but I keep forgetting to switch it off

You getting in touch with your 'feminine' side Tam? :giggle:

Actually they look rather good ... do you have details of where you got them from please.
I love the relationship you have with Tam (y)

Gina.

Not sure if it's a 'good' one or a 'bad' one, but it's certainly entertaining with a mutual bit of pee taking! :giggle:

Not switching it off you could end up with a flat starter battery. With the amount of solar you have you will probably get away with it most of the time as your leisure batteries will be fully charged. But not worth the risk.

We called into a vet's in Belgium with our own worming tablets, he said "My signature (pointing at the passports) my tablets !" 🤷‍♂️

My response to that would be . Your job to get them to swallow them without distressing my dog.

Once they had spat them out several times he'd get the idea

I know which is why I'd prefer it did it automatically. I'll need it more over winter

Tam will you be doing the Polar Steps thing again on this adventure?

Yes it's already set to track from Saturday. I'll post a link on the new thread Saturday morning.

If I do it now there will be 3 pages of nonsense before I even start 😁🤣🤣

Do let us know the name of the new thread asap so that we can be on your heels from the onset!! Joking - we can’t bear to miss a moment of your adventures. Safe journey Tam.

For that you need the pre booked text alert option

Just £19.95 per month 🤣

Hint taken, that's me struck off then :ROFLMAO:

Gina.
Don't take it personally - there's always pages of nonsense on Tam's threads
Nature abhors a vacuum
So if he doesn't post every 10 minutes, then us followers tend to meander off in some very strange directions, until we're brought to heel & back on the path.

Re. alarms - unless you're planning on spending time stopping in a grotty part of Belfast, Dublin or Cork then Ireland would be a place I'd have very little concern about. It's quiet and rural. I'd be more concerned on this side of the sea!

Don't get me wrong I'm totally used to the diversions and many are entertaining, useful and often funny. I don't mind

But if I start a new one now and post the polarities link I guarantee by Sunday I'll have a dozen folk posting on page 10 saying " have you a link to polarsteps " cause it gets lost in the confusion.

A bit Heath Robinson, and probably too late but have you thought of getting a bunch of cheap personal alarms to rig your windows...

Might scare off a chancing toerag
You can get window alarms, I have one on my sliding window on my A Class. Not very loud but let's them know they have triggered something.

You could extend the wires and relocate the switch? I fitted one with a LED that is on the passenger seat base which I can turn on or off without taking my eyes off the road. A D+ signal only needs a low current so the wires can be 10A

Yeah this is true. Because at present the switch is in the rear lounge

Starting to think I'm mad going to Ireland....I've spent the last hour trying to put the scooter on the bike carrier and every time I go outside the rain feckin starts ...come in it stops go out it starts . The scooter was nice and dry now it's bloody soaked.

And I believe Ireland is worse than Scotland for rain.

I can see the scooter never being off the rack again before Spain 🤣🤣

A friend of mine lives in west cork on the coast , apparently they have a micro climate which is sub tropical , however it only works whilst he has no visitors , because no one has ever experienced it in real life😎😇😆👍👍😆😆

On one of my surf trips to Ireland when we were due to catch the ferry it was cancelled due to a big storm so we found a B&B for the night. The lady owner was chatting to us over breakfast about the weather and Guinness, she said her husband only drinks when it rains. So I said he must be an alcoholic then. 😂

I have a piece of timber which fits snugly in the internal part of the horizontal lower rail and prevents the window being slid open, works a treat and is a visual deterrent from the outside.

It ain't called the Emerald Isle for nothing ... it's soo green and lush due to all the rain it gets. :giggle: Might be an idea to have a shuftie at the weather stats, rainfall etc for autumn/winter and see if it's worth the hassle/expense.

Tam I took note of your soup choice and today while away in the van gave it a try, I'd say well worth carrying in the van store cupboard Ed enjoyed it.
