Tam & co the great winter escape

The road was definitely a bit clenchy bum at bits....i was planning to video it on the way back down but not sure if we are going the same way or if we are going to continue up and round inland or follow the coast .
Great photos Tam, was that road single track with passing places, did you meet anyone coming the other way ?

No passing places ... fortunately never met anything going the other way .. hopefully wont on way down either

From Safeguard's terms....

........" For motorhome insurance and Breakdown you have the minimum cover required in any country which is a
member of the European Union and any other country which agrees to follow European Union Directives on
motor insurance and is approved by the Commission of the European Union. .......

So if the info on the link you provided is correct it would suggest you are Ok if your insurance provider has the same terms.

i bet you right popular with your travelling companion after leading her up that road....:X3:

the thing is..... on the way up she did not know what too expect .... NOW!!!! on the way down..!!
The way down is always the risky bit, but hey living on the wild side, you survived this far so you will be ok, looks a lovely road😇

Its roads like that I find I'm happier being in a RHD so as to be able to see how close to edge I am. If LHD and Emma sitting that side she would be freaking right out.
Ah but if you had the mountain on your right side🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😉

Lovely pictures, you sometimes need to take a chance on roads like that to discover the best places.
Shame you dont use What3Words Tam, its so easy to get your exact position using that App.
I am following two vloggers through Turkey at the moment, easy to spot their park ups with what3 words.
PS: one of them has just found out that LV will give them fully comp insurance in Turkey, so that's an option not possible until recently.(y)
Most of us are told the van is too expensive to take a risk through some countries, well good old LV might come to the rescue for some.

Tread The Globe are were travelling alongside Overlanding Sophia through Turkey, here's a link, just in case Tam hasn't been following, lots of great places, lakes & beach towns. But they only bought 3rd party insurance at the border for 30EU for 90 days.
It was good old Gadget John that made the LV discovery, stunning filming & editing on his journey through 13 countries thus far, he will on his way to Greece & Turkey after Montenegro, Albania, hats off to him, Slovakia looked wonderful.

Ok folks i found this .....whats the verdict
?
That is only about check your insurance I suspect their laws still require insurance. I hope nothing happens good luck.
I can understand you risking it but I wouldn't have though Jackie would. Have a prang they will probably impound the vehicle if no insurance.

Im not keen on risking it to be honest ....im more concerned about it than jackie is ..but i found that last year with the covid stuff and transiting etc she seems happy to bury her head in the sand .....so im still trying to find out where to buy it ...ive posted on a Montenegro tourist site where others have asked about the insurance. Might have to drive back to the border this morning ...its only 40 minutes drive so not a big issue

But that link you put up seems to say you don't need any, and if the bloke at the border wouldn't take any money off you seems to prove it.

The link says they don't check the same as any other boarder not that you don't need it.

Yes this is the problem. And Jackie asked on a couple of Facebook groups and it seems there's several people had the same issue ....told at border it was no longer needed but insurance company in uk saying they dont cover ...so the folk on Facebook all just drove through .

Not many options really other than driving back up through Croatia.

Have you called your insurer?
Although that's a problem in its self, don't want to stir up a can of worms.

Hey Tam. When you went through the Eurotunnel, did you have to take your dogs to the pet centre first? We have an EU passport of Izzy and I am just wondering what has changed for leaving the UK.

See below for link to Montenegrin info about Green Cards.

"The contractual relations between Association – National Bureau of Montenegro Insurers and other National Bureaus of certain countries members of so called registration plates section is based on the Multilateral Agreement (MA) stipulating registration plates as valid international insurance proof. Therefore, drivers of vehicles bearing registration plates of the countries, signatories of MA, do not have to possess green/white card when entering and using their vehicles in Montenegro.

The valid proof of insurance for the drivers of vehicles bearing registration plates of the countries, members of registration plates sections of the Green Card System, is their registration plate.

Table 2: Countries members of the Green Card System which are members of the so called registration plates section:"

Those donkey’s look nice. I wonder if they make good eating? I’ve eaten quite a lot of horse, but never donkey.
I've heard that it gives you the Trot's. mind you I suppose that's preferable to the Gallops from the horse meat.
