My poor mum ended up in A&E Lincoln, stayed with her until 2am after being told she was being transfered to a ward, rang early the next day for an update and guess what, still in A&E, in the end she was in A&E a full 24hrs before getting on a wardSo sorry to hear about your mum Tam. Hope she isn't stuck in there for much longer. It's grim down here, average waiting time at A&E is 8 hours. Hope it's not the same there for you and your mum.

It's amazing how dogs are just fine if you have to leave them for a long periods sometimes. They will be dying for the loo but that's allFinally got home , she has a bit of infection around her knee replacement again ...which is what happened in 2018 and ultimately ended up with her in hospital for 6 months and nearly dyeing...hence my worry.
BUT orthopaedic insists its not serious and exercise and antibiotics will clear it up so shes home with pills ... She's worse now with all the sitting in an uncomfortable wheel chair i struggled to get her in the car and getting out was a nightmare i had to pull her up by the scruff of her jacket.
Hoping the pills clear it up
Poor dogs have been really good ...heading out for a walk before dinner then i have to go feed sisters cats
Good news. She will be so glad to be home, bet she was praying they wouldn't keep her in.Finally got home , she has a bit of infection around her knee replacement again ...which is what happened in 2018 and ultimately ended up with her in hospital for 6 months and nearly dyeing...hence my worry.

I think Boris would agree with you on thatIve a feeling its going to be one of those days
Perhaps you need to change your phone settings so that if your Mum needs you she will be able to get hold of you, it's okay having it on DND but as you/your Mum have found out it can cause difficulties.Well mum started phoning at 05.30 ...phone was on do not disturb till 7am so i never got the calls , eventually she got me at 07.35 ...to tell me she felt sick and wondered if id seen the news as there was apparently a government bail out. Ive not seen the news so ive no idea what she's on about .
Anyway ive propped her legs on a table gave her 2 ibuprofen and heading out with the dogs.

She was fine , she is the world's worst patient. Refuses to listen to anyone including the doctors. She's not taking the antibiotics he gave her , ive had to force her to take ibuprofen. To be honest im starting to wonder if she's playing up because my sister is away on holiday.Perhaps you need to change your phone settings so that if your Mum needs you she will be able to get hold of you, it's okay having it on DND but as you/your Mum have found out it can cause difficulties.
If she's not taking the antibiotics then I'd get in touch with her GP now and get them involved as otherwise she'll end up back in hospital and could lose her leg completely or worse - as you already know from the past with your Mum you do NOT mess about with infections. She was fine , she is the world's worst patient. That's what my Mum does when we go away, you haven't been able to read the long running 'Getting Old is no fun' thread as it's in the 'U-shaped lounge' but I, Shiftzz and many others have been contributing to that for a long time about the struggles etc we have with our aging parents, I wish there was a way you could read it as it would be very enlightening for you I'm sure.To be honest im starting to wonder if she's playing up because my sister is away on holiday.
Your mum is right, Bo Jo is in trouble. I posted about it last night and got shot downWell mum started phoning at 05.30 ...phone was on do not disturb till 7am so i never got the calls , eventually she got me at 07.35 ...to tell me she felt sick and wondered if id seen the news as there was apparently a government bail out. She's a cantankerous auld bugger at times. Im sure she does it just to wind us up.
