Tam & co the great winter escape

Check out the price of this 😱

<Broken link removed>
Not just the price of buying it, 600l fuel tanks, so 1200 quid to fill up which will get you 1000 miles give or take a few. These won't get any easier to sell until fuel prices drop. I love the look, but it's not a "daily driver" in motorhoming of flt'ing terms. For epic trips, not weekends away.

I bet the top one rides over speed bumps really well.
I reckon its on air so it will be able to lift and drop on demand.

I had a vw splitty that sat on the sills when parked but ran at normal height.

With cold chips!!!

Carol
No, if away we warm them up in the double skillet, at home they get bunged in the halogen oven thing which crisps then up again. :tounge:

That looks rank even came with a pot of sewer sludge.
You've flipping well jinxed it Lenny! Decided to get some tonight from our local instead of tomorrow when we go to the seaside (already planned to take Lily away so still going), we're not happy though as they've started to use those awful polystyrene trays which they plonked the chips in, with the peas/curry on them then slapped the fish on top, so we had soggy chips and soggy fish which fell to pieces when trying to remove it and of course the peas/curry had mixed in with the chips which we hate. To add insult to injury they've put the price up to £3.50 which is bad enough for the 'mess' we got but next week it's going up again to £4.75!!! With the state of what we got tonight they can put it up to £100 a portion if they like as we won't be going there again for such rubbish and I suspect many others won't either ... think they've shot themselves in the foot.

Not happy bunnies as we were really looking to them to 'raise' our spirits a bit. :(

What do you expect at those silly low prices.

I use the GR something or other chip shop that is near me and the large fish special is £8.50. Won’t get it again purely because it was way to big, two lots would have easily done three of us with leftovers. The special consists of chips, cod and either peas or curry and quality is excellent. Cooked fresh as well 👍
East Park fish and chips isn’t far away but not tried them yet

I know you are jesting but this chippy is in a council estate where there are lot of people on low incomes/benefits so they are likely to reduce their customer base quite significantly, if the quality was as good as it was the last time we had them we'd go back but after today, no way Jose ... I'm wondering if they've had a change of ownership.

With the way fish has rocketed in price they must be selling at a loss.

A couple of weeks ago I bought 4 fresh Mackerel £16.38, I was expecting to pay a fiver, nearly fell over.

Same here, the price of fresh Mackerel is astonishing, I blame the health food sector, Mackerel used to be virtually given away years ago, until the beneficial oils factor was promoted.
It was a tenner for 2 fish in Durham the other week.

I honestly dont know how they do that so cheap. My boss says he now pays £4.60 for the haddock each. From the fishermen

I read an article the other day that said two meals of fish a week increase’s chance of cancer….🤷🏼‍♂️ All these years saying it’s good for you down the pan…

Chatting to my local fish and chip shop proprierter recently, he says they will break the £10 barrier quite soon.
And this is a chippy on a council estate.
He's not confident about his future as he has already seen a significant drop off in sales.
At less than a fiver, I'm not sure how they're doing it ?
