Ach everyone said the same when that scumbag that owns witherspoons did what he did in 2020. Folk still go there though.

And when p&o sort themselves oot ye'll still use them if they are the best price. Thats how these companies keep going unfortunately.

Anyway fortunately my crossing isn't with them. ..it nearly was though as they were the cheapest. I paid extra to dfds to include a meal ...daft thing is i now intend to hide in the van lol so i wont get ot anyway

In wurzburg today. I never thought much of this place the last time i was here so i wasn't going to bother walking in to town. But in the end i though why not. Can't say my opinion has changed though its still rather dull. But for those who haven't been heres a few pics.

Quite impressive really but just a little bit of sunshine would make it attractive. You seem to have had a lot of dull weather this trip.

Tam, Turkey can be and often is as cold as the Arctic in the east in the depths of winter, did some training there one year direct from northern Norway and we needed the same kit and clothing.

Our Willie was the Scottish lad always up to mischief!

Used to read it weekly and then get the annual at Christmas! 2 annuals (broons too) between 8 didn't go far and lead to arguments - I was reading that!!

Right you orrrible lot , im in wurzburg , im booked in to vet in bernkastel kues monday morning. So i have 2 night stops between here and there. Im looking at map and nothing is jumping out so give me recommendations of somewhere that's worth seeing please. Id prefer to go in as straight a line as possible to save fuel


Now be quick i want to leave in an hour lol

Archaeological museum/park at Belginum but Mr Google says it's temporarily closed, not much else.

Lieser just a few km up the Mosel from Bernkastel there is a small country park by the river you can park in, great for the dogs. If you need to service 5km further up the river there is a big Stellaplatz with services.

I don't recommend the dentist in Bernkastel his glasses fell in my mouth while he was doing a filling.

This place is fab and has a stellplatz...probably too far south for you though. We happened on it by chance and spent about 5 hours there.

Lovely vets, good choice, , been a few times. Easy to park and very friendly and efficient.

Bingen am rhein is a nice stop https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/marker.php?id=30069 , go over the ferry to Rhudesheim em Rhein and up to the monument lots of places for the dogs there as its a big woods. Or Koblenz if you want a city stop https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/marker.php?id=24849 . plenty of space by the river from memory. Discaimer not a dog owner so your and my ideas of dog friendly may differ

Do you mind me asking if that is a habit you bounce in and out off or do you speak in that manner all the time. Do you consider it Scottish or a version of it. Have spent a lot of time in Scotland in recent years as my son in law and grand children all born there. I know there are local sayings etc. silly question, just curious.

Unless im in the company of someone i think would struggle to understand me then i talk scottish. Most people off here thats ever met me would struggle to understand if i spoke like i do when home so i tone it down for their benefit.

Im not from the highlands so my accent isnt as strong as it is north of aberdeen but i have a pretty broad fifer accent
