Tam & co the great winter escape

Tam, if you want me to change your booking just drop me a private message with the details and I'll log in and and do it for you ... assuming you trust me of course! :giggle:
(y) I was just going to send a message to Tam to suggest his asks a friend to do it on their computer.

Thats possible but if its the case its useless to me as i only have a mobile. No computer.

Will likely be the one and only time i ever use direct ferries as its shit when you can't get hold of them
Some of these agents are tiny organisations. Just a bloke on a phone. Like some insurance brokers.

Once you use these agents, the ferry companies normally won't touch you with a bargepole.

Nothing to lose in ringing DFDS but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

The silence is certainly a bit worrying. The Polar steps has him ‘as travelling’.

I’m in Ro near Huedin, if you see this.

I’m at the top, Huedin heading Cluj. If I knew earlier I would of detoured from Oradea to Brad.

Have you got Google maps on your phone? If so try putting in Laundromat(American like google) and see if it comes up with one near you.

If not go down to the river and see if there is some old scrubber who will scrub you(rs) for a few notes.

I've tried every variation of laundarette i can think of ...the closest comes up near budapest

Search: laundromat "Cluj"

or whatever place you end up at in quotes as that will restrict the search to that area.

Spalatorie de rufe.only in areas like Cluj, or touristic areas. Another option is a private Pensiune ( B&B) for a fee.
I got as far as Piatra Fintinele, Tihuta pass. Lots of snow.

Get a 5gall sealable drum, add water, clothes and soap, let it roll around in the back of the van while your travelling, hang out washed clothes when you stop. Simples!

When I was in the Merchant Navy, we bashed some holes in a 40gall drum, added the clothes and a bar of dobby soap, attached a hawser and slung it over the side while we travelled through the ocean.

A couple of hours later, pulled in the hawser and the clothes were clean. (did something similar under a waterfall many years later) (y)
