Looks like that town would be lovely to visit in summer, a nice town square to laze around in supping coffee/beer/wine.

Thats the 4th time now someone here in Romania has pointed at ela and said erdelyi kopo .....i normally just shrug and say sorry i don't understand ...but this old fella here in sibui kept saying it and pointing so i repeated im sorry i dont understand and he said breed breed erdelyi kopo ....i said im unsure i found her in greece ... he then said erdelyi kopo ... Romain hungary hunting dog and made sniffing the ground movements lol ...

So there you have it she either is a Hungarian Transylvanian hound or she looks very much like one .

I think, if it is one, the reason why people are so interested is that they are VERY rare. Some sources even say extinct?

You take care, they might think your rich if you can afford a rare dog like that?

A question,

As a lot of Western Europe, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany etc got absolutely flattened during the last World War and most of the building that one see's today (they look old because they were rebuilt back exactly as they had been), are less than 100yrs old.

The question is, did most of Eastern Europe escape this destruction or have the building also been rebuilt??

I ask this because, when I did the European tours as a driver/guide and had been kidding the punters (sometimes too much perhaps)
No-one would believe that the most of the centres of, Cologne and Brussels for example, are not the original.

Reading up... seems like they were/are used for hunting wild boar.
But not for the killing, just the finding.
Apparently, they search for a track/scent... and yelp when they find one.

Today we visited castelul corvinilor , one of the largest castles in europe , a gothic renaissance castle built between 1419 and 1456 ,its declared as one of the 7 wonders of romania, legend states vlad the Impaler was held captive here, it was also used as a filmset for the 2018 horror movie the nun

I didn't

You can go in but im not sure if theres much to see inside. I usually prefer the outside and the view from them to be honest. The ones ive been inside before didn't do much for me.

Bloody direct ferries so awkward to use.


Ok so this morning i was thinking as im getting a little fed up of the cold weather and with all the other stuff going on i might move my ferry crossing forward a week ...so going back to uk the 15th rather than the 22nd .

So i went on to my direct ferries account to try and amend the booking as apparently if you do it through my account it only costs a £10 fee rather than a £45 fee if you do it over the phone etc.

So i log on change the date and submit....it changes on the screen but then nothing happens . I log out , log back in and it still shows date for 22nd .

Ive done this 3 times now and the same happens. This was around 11am this morning so 9am uk time .

Ive recieved no emails or anything to confirm and having checked bank etc theres no £10 charge pending.

First off id have expected after clicking submit to be taken to a next screen that would advise me if there were any additional costs for moving dates and an option to accept or reject. I never got that.

Ive done it 3 times....ive no idea if its went through any of those times and /or if i will be charged £10 for each of those.

If i contact the help to change the booking they will charge me £45 ...but the my account obviously isn't working.

If its still the 22nd ive no need to rush i still have days left to waste here and 14 days in shengen


If it has changed to 15th then i now only have 12 days to get from here to Calais so i really need to leave Romania tomorrow or friday at the latest.


Why does stupid online accounts not work like they are meant to

Directferries does not take in coming calls ... you've to email them with the problem and wait till they either email back or phone you

My ticket cost me £147 originally , i don't really want to pay anymore on top of that to be honest. The £10 fee to change it im not to fussed about but no desire to pay for example another £50 to go earlier as its not like im in any rush .

then i almost immediately got a confirmation email.

so no email, no booking is my view you are still on the 22nd.

might be worth another go and search the screen for little boxes...

I've found sometimes boxes don't show up on a mobile but fine on a desktop screen.

that could have been it as the first few attempts were on andriod, Later on in desperation i took to the laptop as the screen is generally more user friendly on such things to make sure i had not made any mistakes and noticed the tiny tick box.

I didnt think to look back at the mobile web page, i just assumed i was not paying attention...
