Tam & co the great winter escape

I will call the vet in the morning and let you know on the tests. I guess you will be stopping somewhere near Burgas tonight, I am only about 2hrs drive north from there and there is a good park up right near the beach here while you are waiting for test results.
Because i didn't get over border till around 6 i just parked up at svilengrad for tonight but will be heading to burgas area tomorrow i expect.

Be careful, it’s dangerous out there,
The byline for this pic should be “ no your not” 😆😆😆

Morning Tam, as I thought, the titre tests are sent to Germany and results received by vet in one month, cost is 300lev ( 130 GBP ) per dog.
Ok thanks for that ...a month is a bit long if i have to return to the same vet so i might leave them till i come back next year and get them done in greece.

Does show determination though eh ...he obviously knew it wouldn't go in the right way up so he tried to fit it through at an angle ....to be fair if he'd just leaned it over another wee bit he might of made it

I don't think it's quite as bad as it first appears as it's not a box body, he has got most through, it's only the high back ramps that are stuck.
I bet the person in the white car needed a change of pants (and probably a tin opener to get out)

Its probably not the best time of year to visit Bulgaria unless you are going for the Skiing.

Tam ... can you remind us all why you have gone away? I thought it was to get away from all the snow and cold weather in Scotland but that doesn't appear to be the case!

Sun is blazing and its actually quite warm outside. Roads ( term used loosely ) are are clear of snow and very quiet , some are like cattle tracks and you struggle to drive over 30mph . Satnav can't figure out this country it has me going all over the place. 2 hours 13 minutes to do 60 miles so far . Got pulled over by police at roadblock ...van searched mildly , v5 , passport etc all taken and checked etc ..came to this lake to have lunch and let the dogs have a run around ... they like the snow ...im not so keen. Continuing on towards burgas after lunch.

At least its proper snow and not UK slush

Ill give you a shout when im up your way and can grab a coffee and a blether if you like 👍
Look forward to that matey. The police that stopped you will have been frontier police, they have jurisdiction up to 60 kms from the borders and we do have quite a problem with so called refugees coming illegally from Turkey headed to western Europe, hence the search.

They were pleasant enough and didn't keep me long thankfully

Bulgara looks beautiful in the snow.
Can you remind us why you need a titre test, is it just for Ela ?

You can't just do that, you need to give them notice normally so if you don't then you are just classed as being in default thus will get chased for that and any subsequent months' payments - you HAVE to give notice

Thought Yeti were in the Himalayas..BUSBY.

Would you not think of doing Spain/Morocco next year for better weather? We are hoping Morroco next year although it's it's been so dry and hot in the Alpujarras for the last month I'd be happy here if it's similar next year.

I need a titre for all of them if i want to do turkey and Morocco in the future which i do ...but if it means i have to stay somewhere for a month for results then i think my best option would be the vet that did ela's passport in greece ....that way i could get the bloods taken ...travel the Peloponnese for a month and pop back to collect results before i moved on ...quite easy to spend a month and not go too far away in the Peloponnese. But anywhere else im usually working a route.

Why don't you just get the titre when home in the uk at a fixed base then?

That's not what you said at the start of the trip, I recall it was something about going south for some warm weather.
Yeah and ive had warmer weather. 🤷‍♂️ The weather is one thing i can't control so i just have to make the best off it. My other options are Albania which is not any warmer or a ferry to italy and a dash home over 2 weeks . Neither is very appealing ...so this is best option

Besides im now at the coast .....its not swimming weather but weve just had a walk on the beach and i was just in a t shirt so cant complain

It won't be valid on EU passports. It has to be done in EU somewhere
Is that a definite as I thought the titre test is a completely separate document from the passport? We got Beech done before the Brexshit deadline when everything was a bit uncertain and were given a separate document but if you're correct we'll have to get it done again. Not a problem if so as we love Spain and loads to explore here so could easily get it done somewhere in Andalusia then return to collect it.
