Yeah i lose track of days all the time ....sundays are a hit and miss sometimes it can be quiet or mobbed but i tend to avoid big towns on fridays or Saturdays.

Well rothenburg is a nice town and was thankfully quiet ....
I never did find the toymaker shop from chitty chitty bang bang but nevermind...i didnt stay long as i hadn't worn a jacket and it was threatening rain so a walk around town and a bit of the castle walls and then back to toby .....was a nice overlander truck parked near me when we got back

Moving on now and will stop for lunch somewhere new

Went there two years ago and it was wonderful. Then went up the Romantic Road to the top - magic

Its been lovely today since i left rothenburg...bright and sunny and warm enough to not need a coat
Stopped off in Feuchtwanger and picked up some shopping and found a Woolworths lol so got 2 jumpers also.

Ive now arrived in nordlingen ...i was actually going to park on the paid stellaplatz but its completely full so im parked in the carpark next to it ....must be the gods of flt or something....but you couldn't slide a credit card between the vans on the stellplatz so im quite glad actually
Not the best location as its between a road and a railway but nowhere else around here and Lenny HB recommended this place for a visit.

I recognised most of Rothenburg pics. I went to Midnight NY Service in the Cathedral.

I had a girlfriend there at the time.

Well im not sure what drugs those doctors had Lenny HB on but nordlingen not my cup of tea i found it rather dull ....granted the cathedral if it hadnt been surrounded by scaffolding i would have taken a photo ...but otherwise it was just a town enclosed by a wall.

So i didn't get any pics

However there was one bonus as the service point on the stellplatz was free so i emptied and filled up while here.

The stellplatz was full when i arrived last night but when i got up at 9am there was only a dozen or so vans left and 3 parked alongside me in the standard carpark
So its onwards and downwards

I think you may be flying through these towns too quickly to appreciate them fully and find out what they offer. It may also be that at this time of year without the summer vibe they are rather different ?

Yeah I tend to think that also, just looking at a castle that's pretty much like the last one is not really seeing the town, I know this covid thing puts a damper on everything, but you can't really judge a town by not going near other people and missing out on the restaurants and stuff.

Possibly but Germany was only ever planned to be a few weeks on my trip.

I just didnt find it an attractive or interesting town ...i like architecture and quaint buildings etc and it didnt have any ....

Just wasnt my type of town ...theres a few on the route that stand out and others just a bit bland.

I've arrived in Augsburg now and will go for a look around after lunch

Im actually quite suprised that except wurzburg most places have been quiet ....and not seen anything regarding Oktoberfest etc ...im guessing a lot has been cancelled
