Newspapers,Folkestone MP, RSPCA .....don’t know who might be interested. Tam,if you wanted to you could start a new thread just about this issue and that might give some info and ideas, but I do realise it’s not something that you may want to do.
Sleep well.
Far better to get a few hours kip than drive when tired, particularly in the dark.
Aye thats my thoughts too ....but im just prepared as my previous experiences with the police have never been that great ....but i have plenty proof of my travels today to back it up etc ...im not that keen on driving the motorhome in the dark either and would have to park on the street at the house tonight also ...is that not the same as a HGV driver does??
OK driver hours dont count in a motorhome but driver safety does.. I am sure if you told plod nicely you did not want to risk yours and other lives and will be moving on as soon as rested all will be well...
A nice BS sob story and most won't look any further - they want a dog, and they want to believe they're doing a good thing... not promoting dog trafficking.I wonder if the buyers over here realise the trauma the dogs go through.
What about Ricky Gervais... he's big into dog welfare and has a huge Social Media presence?Sounds like it needs reporting. Maybe Tams photos would be of interest..
Coz it’s easier to catch motorists than burglars. Why is plod going to knock?
Because im in a motorhome during a lockdown with supposed to be no overnights. And as podney says ...easy pickings compared to proper police workWhy is plod going to knock?
Has someone dumped an old bus on the drive?would have to park on the street at the house tonight also ...
Yeah and not parked it properly...and my car has flat battery so i need to move them both before i can get toby inHas someone dumped an old bus on the drive?
That has reminded me a neighbour bought a Romanian rescue dog about a year ago. Poor thing was really frightened wouldn't go near people or other dogs. She already had a dog and the 2 dogs wouldn't tolerate each other. She has had dogs all her life she couldn't do anything with this one I think she returned it to the Romamanians. The more I read about this, the more concerned I am for the dogs welfare.

Coincidentally, the duchess met a lady recently who had just got a dog from Romania and it was very timid....not surprising if it had a journey from hell in the back of a van.
It does make you wonder how many dogs are being taken into the country daily. If anyone else has the opportunity of parking there overnight, keep an eye out for how many vans pull up and take dogs in for checking. We have seen this on more than one occasion and it upset us tremendously. There certainly wasn’t anyone coming out from the office to check and only one dog has been taken in from each van. Maybe this happens under the cover of darkness. It closes at ten or eleven. We asked if we could stay overnight, they said no problem.yes.
I was thinking that as the requirements for commercial transportation is up to a maximum of 20 in vehicles that comply with UK & NI requirements for safety, adaptation, temperature control, etc. Additionally they have to be a licensed registered business or a registered charity & the people transporting have to be employee¡s/ registered volunteers.
The animals cannot be taken in one at a time but must be seen in situ by the person checking each animal to ensure no substitution, that the vehicle is legal, registered as a vehicle for transportation of live animals, is insured as such & complies with the requirements to transport the animals in the safe & legal manor..
If the dog is born in the bush, with no human contact, it hunts for food, raids the garbage bins, does what mother did, etc., What else they do is abandon them from cars. This evening on my way from the petrol station, I pass a bridge, a new puppy lost , being dumped. One km further a big one wandering for food, it’s a sad sad reality. How those dogs are going to behave with humans again? The ones dumped, are sometimes lucky and find a kind soul if they don’t get attached by other territorial dogs. When we came here late autumn, few days later a cat turned up on our terrace at the back. Looking for food. She was dumped as you could see she was still healthy, nice fir but very old no teeth. We treated her as ours, she was used to humans that was another clue she was dumped. Later we noticed she is pregnant to, so old pregnant no use she had to go, sad. We kept her and fed her plenty of wet food, she can’t eat dry as no teeth. About 12 days ago she gave birth to 3 beutiful kittens. They are in a cardboard box in the hallway near the radiator. Few days ago they opened their eyes, mama she is very tired I’m praying she hangs on till they start drinking milk and food. My neighbour saw them and begged to give them to him. I said he needs to look after mama as we will leave shortly. That has reminded me a neighbour bought a Romanian rescue dog about a year ago. Like me she didn't have a clue what was going on, she though she was helping out by taking on a rescued dog.

We may be staying there in a week so will keep an eye out.It does make you wonder how many dogs are being taken into the country daily. My daughters favourite saying, sometimes within a mile of leaving home“Are we nearly there yet”.
