Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Your tyre lived up tomorrow their name, Blizzard
Yes those tyres did well today ...never slipped once even on that compacted ice going up very steep hills ...it helped that the roads were quiet as i just kept the foot down going up ....but scary stuff at some points as visibility was terrible

If this helps there is a vet at Guignicourt that you dont need to book and speaks english, 10 mins max off motorway at J14 A26, there is also an Aire on the edge of town ( if its open ) as you go into town up a small street to the left.

its about 250 kms to The shuttle terminal ( on the motorway ) from there.

last time i was there the vet opens in the late afternoon at around 1700 hrs. you turn up and wait your turn in whatever que there is. There was 2 of us last time.

Ok so still got nowhere had to go get diesel, gas and a few items of shopping ...did that to calm down

Went to the aire to empty my toilet and grey and there were 2 Italian motorhomes here and i thought i would ask if they spoke english but before i got a chance one came out shouting at us that we shouldn't be here ...waving his hands and shouting .. spitting on the ground and saying you go ...you not right to be in italy ...country in lockdown disgusting etc

I lost the head and basically told him to f off while Jackie tried to tell him we were transiting home etc ....bit of a richard head if you ask me ...anyway im off to try the pharmacy
Sorry for your experience with the eyties! When driving commercially the less time I spent in Italy was good. Surprised you contained yourself to just F--- Off.

She's got her pedal to metal and will be on your mum's drive waiting when you get back :giggler::giggler:
Na, he's given her Lennys address and arranged to meet her there. 🤥😉

Not in Scotland. Here it is hotel quarantine wherever you have travelled from.
That isn't actually correct, you are allowed to self isolate at you accommodation with the mandatory testing if you travel from CTA without having been in a Red travel area in the last 10 days. CTA is the rest of the UK plus Eire,

I am on day 9 of my self isolation in my van in Glasgow after coming back from my winter trip in Spain.
I came back via Portsmouth, so entered Scotland via CTA.Have been contacted by officials 3 times without problems.

Not if you arrive in england first. Its only direct arrival in scotland via airport .

Im entering via the common travel zone ie england
Edit
I answered before noticing someone else already had 👍
I had thought that myself at first but i double checked a few weeks back to make sure that was the case .....i like sturgeon but she and i would be falling out if she tried to put me out a self contained van in to a hotel with other people....

Not sure what his problem was ... normally id have tried to explain the situation that we were transiting etc but i was stressed yesterday morning and really couldn't be doing with the aggro. It just shows you though that despite being in a motorhome himself so probably also a fulltimer folk are quick to jump to conclusions and attack folk without bothering to ask first.

I remember a few fulltime vanlifers in Scotland getting aggro last year from locals around where they had parked and i can understand folk who dont live in vans making assumptions etc but dont get it when they are doing the same thing

So an early start this morning .... cockerel woke me up about 6am so im up had breakfast and dogs have been out chasing chickens for a bit ....they didn't catch one so ive taken some out freezer for tonight's dinner .

Going to head for Reims today for a start ....satnag says 7hours with no tolls but will see how it goes

If you turn up at the tunnel a day early they will most likely put you through , they certainly did with me in November
With our frequent traveller account, I was able to change one of ours from the following day until about 4 hours time, did it online en route in a servcie station. ET are much more flexible these days, biggest issue is shortage of crossings.

Chuff me Tam remember the days when we could just travel around without all this palava.
Well, being a (softie) southerner, I haven’t heard that expression since I were a lad. Chuff me! Farmers wife was from Derbyshire (that’s north of Watford Gap innit?) and she was always on about chuff this, chuff that, the chuffing things broke.
And then there was the word chuff piece, that was something else entirely!

With apologies to any of a nervous disposition if I have used the dialect from ooop there in poor taste!

Not forgetting 'Chuff off'. :giggle:

It’s just normal everyday conversation

Ooh ,nice cakes. Or is it chuffin nice cakes.
When you are in another part of the country and talk about “spice” they look at you gone out, that’s what we’ve always called sweets. “ Mam, giz a sixpence for sum spice”
I can hear myself now

” Chuff off thas had sum tother day”

I can also hear my mam

I think going out to buy spice has entirely different connotations these days :Eeek:

I was brought up in the north east and sweets was kets .

Well if they do all turn up at lenny's to quarantine, there will be plenty of room on the new patio to have a socially distanced get together.
Should be OK with Tam on it, 23 tonnes of Type 1 under it, it was OK last time he was on it.
