Another vote for the vet at Neufchatel en Bray. Online booking really easy, & Aire at Mesniere en Bray - about 3 miles away & free.

He should have taken his ramps with him. He will never get to sleep.

Hi, I saw that someone recommended a covid test place at Neufchatel en Bray. If you do decide to use that location the vet at Neufchatel is really easy to use. They have an English section on their website and you can book online. <Broken link removed>

Thats on the way to Dieppe not Calais it would be a big detour.

Yes - about an hour from Calais the other way. Depends on how difficult tests & vets are to co ordinate though? Might mean the detour was worthwhile?

I'd have thought that a vet further south might have fitted in better seeing as the treatment has to be given between 24 hours and 5 days of reaching the UK, but I don't know what your plans are for getting yourself tested.

You could plan where you want to stay tomorrow night, then google vets around the area. eg ' Veterinaire Chaumont', and it'll come up with a whole list.

If you do want something closer to the Tunnel, we haven't used these ourselves, but they were recommended to us by a British couple who we met last year, when we were fleeing the lockdown in France.

Dr De Cauwer, 1, Place de Marche aux Bestiaux, 59380 Bergues
They'll see you without an appointment between 1.30pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday. Just around the corner from a good, free aire.
I've no idea of the charge, though, being so close to Calais.

Well what a day that was .... managed to get my results by asking a pharmacy to log on to website and use my info to get it for me and they kindly printed it off ...so i set off for grenoble around 1pm via briancon to avoid tolls etc ....i drove that road back in april 2019 and it was fine then .....today it was a little more hairy and bum clenching .... was not to bad to briancon but then it got a bit crazy ....lots of french out skiing and i got stopped twice by gendarmes ...test results checked , passport checked ,one had a wee look through door in to van but she didnt come in....was pleasant and friendly thankfully ...then off i went and the road just got worse and worse .....i took some photos out the window but i dared not stop incase i got stuck ...lots of signs saying snow chains mandatory but i had already committed by then and just went for it ...not sure id do it again though as for a lot of miles i was the only vehicle out there and not somewhere id want to get stuck. But i made it and once in to grenoble i was clear off the snow and just lots of rain after that ....so im now in this wee village

So tomorrow im going to hit the road as early as possible and see where ive got to by around 12pm and then see if theres any place around that does the covid rapid tests and perhaps a vet ...not sire which one im best getting done first but as my train is booked for 10.20am on thursday i really could be doing with getting dogs done tomorrow as might be pushing it otherwise ....worse case scenario i move train to friday morning and hope i dont get ripped off with higher charges. Probably best to get covid test done before dogs just incase .
So much stuff to do in certain times etc

Bugger it ive moved my train to friday morning instead as no charge to change it ...that way if im just hanging round calais for a day so be it ...that way i can just drive tomorrow and get as close as i can and sort test and dogs out on Wednesday anytime and ill be fine for friday ..

That drive certainly looks like a squeaky bum moment.

Have a good rest tonight.
