Tam and Toby ~~ Hunting Zorba .....Take two.

Tonight to celebrate Scotland beating Germany at something I decided to cook a traditional Scottish roast dinner ( complete with gravy to appease the gravy demanders from previous offerings). It was fair braw ...and the dogs loved the gravy on their dinner too ...they have swollen bellies View attachment 430484

Gravy was a little watery I grant you but did the job ...

It's also why I couldn't have a van without a real oven ...
That’s getting better! You’re learning! Carrots and gravy.

Are you sure you’ve got enough tatties there....jeez!:LOL:;);)

Enough about the pro’s and con’s of phones. Back to Tam’s adventures..
Ha ha it's cool it's common practice for threads to go off on tangents here and there ...

But there's one pro to phones ....this thread wouldn't exist without one as I don't possess a computer ...I use my phone for everything ...including photos etc

They are great devices that's for sure ,buy there are times they are a curse ....and I always wondered what the world would be like these days if there was some big disaster or another world war and all the mobile networks were down or destroyed....there are many who couldn't survive just because of that lol ....

I am a (deliberately) shrinking laddie and I only eat about a third of that as my only meal of the day., and no alcohol.

You've lost me here?
"Tonight to celebrate Scotland beating Germany at something"
Have I missed something or is that the Covid score? It is quite possible that I have as just watched Newcastle win a home game against Burnley 🥂🥂🥂🥂

I have one and use it for everything , don't have laptop or PC or anything else, but my point was , why do you have to have one to live in the modern world.
Really must be loads that don't have one.
I suspect some said that when the first telephones came along. What convinces most people is the convenience then the need to keep up with change. There'll always be older people who find such things difficult and there will always be some who resist on principle. In the end they're just another step forward. Eventually no-one will be without one much the same as home telephones took off. I can remember when the only people who had phones were those with essential need (and money) like Doctors, Police Stations (remember them  ), head teachers, District Nurses, etc. The rest of us used kiosks. Then over quite a short period there was no-one without a phone. Smartphones are the same.

Maybe people don’t want to carry one around all the time so they are not at everyone else’s beck and call. Sometimes it’s nice that nobody can get hold of you. You don’t understand why that’s seen as a good thing? That’s ok but we don’t all want to be available to everyone else all the time.
They have options! Flight mode is one - or simply turn it to silent. I do that and there are times (much to Wifes annoyance) when I leave it at home. For me the whole point of messaging is so I can choose when to read / answer. But concentrating on communication misses the point: a smartphone is an incredibly powerful pocket computer with access to almost any information you need at any time. And it happens to be a phone too. The time when it was a phone with a few add-ons is long gone.

Often follow your travels although never post but I do hope that you get good news on your test result soon and can continue on your travels .

No I bought it originally as I was applying for warden jobs so if on a site for six months it would be a runaround ...then I used it for delivery work instead ....never planned to bring it with me as it's too restrictive. That's why I resisted a motorbike and trailer also.
And why I'm thinking of changing vans again next year lol

I'm afraid a smartphone is becoming essential to modern life. It escapes me as to why anyone wouldn't have one / want one.
I have one .Not a lot of use when there is no service where you are most of the time.:censored:
...especially as the no-name brands are so cheap.
Computer, communicator & camera in the palm of your hand.
only any use if you have an internet package ,which i didn't, now i do but still no use when there is no mobile signal:censored:

but all anyone in control if such a person exists would have to do is turn the internet off for a few days .
Regular occurrence here at home, not because they tun it off but the system is sh***e.

Just check (ha ha) you don’t have to retest for COVID if you do a detour into Czech Republic ... Robert Koch Institue gives latest info daily.
